To me this thread has become pointless because of the way some of us made comments.

No offense to anyone, please. There is nothing productive coming out from this thread other than repeating same point again and again.

Nothing is pointless as long it's expressed with no inflammatory tone and posted/created in the right thread/post.

I only tried to say that the way this thread is going on it had become a thread to debate on who is right and who is not, who knows better, who not and and same points are being repeated again and again. If its a debate, it lacks variety, the way the points are being repeated. It was quite interesting until people started saying same thing again and again. Thats when I said it has become pointless.

There are many reputed members of MDL on this thread, I really don't mean to offend anyone or prove my point. And this comment is only to clarify what I said earlier. This thread is about an important issue and these type of discussions are really needed for us to make MS aware of the fact that we do not like what they are doing

Thanks for clarifying your opinion. (I am interested also as a MDL moderator to moderate debates)...

Anyway one has two choices when reading a 'debate'.
To focus on those who have variety of examples, own experiences /references when arguing, or to generalize an opinion about a thread by picking only those who repeat over and over again...the former shows up interest, the latter boredom.

One's opinion itself is of course 'always' the same.

At political debates it is quite the same.:)

The fundamentals of a debate are that you have people who want to compromise in order to agree on a subject. That means we are going to be doing a lot of rehashing of previous ideas in order to establish precedence on such an idea. It is essential to do so in a manner which both parties do not go nuclear with one another. In other words it stays a civil debate which is almost unheard of on the internet lol.

Ain't that the truth - "Internet Balls" are usually a lot bigger than "Face 2 Face Balls" - and yet we survive, in spite of ourselves.

    Yeah ... that's kind of obvious :cool2:.

Still we shouldn't forget that we talk about an Alpha/Beta shipped with the hint about included telemetry. The RTM will show whether the mining persists.

Would guess they will handle it similiar to Win 8/8.x where you can choose at setup how much collaboration with MS you accept. Paired with a local account, a fortified browser (which in best case isn't IE, Chrome or Safari) and additionally a VPN i don't see much problems here. One reason for me to avoid certain MS products as much as possible.

Well your fighting in the wrong place. No one here can do anything about the keyloger in M$'s program. You would have to take that up with M$.

Mate you should register in life sphere as well and have a bit of humor, come on enjoy life, embrace all the bad and good things in life. Our evolution, as a whole species, is quite amazing despite everything nefarious the world elite and M$ included might be. During your fight against injustice, better said: our fight, be happy, please :D, you're not alone bro.

You know, you'd get better results sending emails to MS personnel, tweeting prominent MS employees and submitting your feedback about the invasion of privacy.
Out of control outraged people can be a weapon :p

Try some searching on the internet. I typically don't try to contact MS as I torrent their stuff.

no i did use the right words. in the US everyone has the right to do as they please unless it is deemed illegal. legality and morality are two different things. just because some thing is immoral doesn't make it illegal. just go back in history and look at all the things that are illegal now, but used to be legal. a whole slew of drugs for one thing. until a court says otherwise microsoft can data mine, spy, keylog or whatever you want to call it. it's not right but that's how it is. besides i'm sure the secret courts have already logged in on what they want from MS.

damn! when i started this thread it was just a statements of what i believed. figured my inbox would be flooded with hate mail. good to see that some spirited debate is going on. like i said before though if you don't like it, don't use it. the fact that we can use the Technical Preview is a privilege not a right.
