    Hello,

i've tried this phoenix tool 1.42 for my Acer laptop (travelmate 290) with insyde bios.

Tool complains it`s not an insyde flash rom file....

    I've checked it but from slicdump i get ¨Insyde BIOS /ACPI 1.0¨...

It's quite an old lappie but, with enough RAM, could run win7.

    Any clue to this?

    Thank you :)

So it appears that some modules are sensitive to be in a particular location

Just to confirm P8P67 Standard, BIOS 1204 modded with Phoenixtools 1.73B9 Dynamic mode works - as confirmed by Arioch1973 memory settings working nice now (DDR3-1600 finally working - yay!).

My post count doesn't let me post links (not reached 20 yet) otherwise I'd have linked to sendspace.com/file/1dvu8d for the working modded BIOS... but I can't, so I won't :D

Great work Andy... thanks again for your superb efforts :worthy:

P.S. Spent at least 30 mins wondering why CPU-Z was now showing a Bus speed of 75.6MHz instead of 100.... until I realised that CPU-Z 1.56.1 (I was using 1.56) had a fix for Sandybridge! Thought that was the f*ing BIOS at fault too

Humming along now at 4.6GHz.... nice.....

I've always used RW reports and it's worked out fine, just do a Dynamic mod.

But, do I have to make my own or just use one of the ones floating around out there? I thought they were all different for each bios?

It only takes a few minutes to install RW and generate your own file. Very easy to do.

In my city, P67 and H67 series MBs have been removed from some shops showcase due to the Intel Sandy Bridge fatal bug.
