Thank you Andy for this precious app.

Which is the latest version? 1.0.0.0 or 1.0.0.1 RC?

My D610 has turned to brick

All heroes, I tried this tools to insert SLIC 2.1 to my Dell Latitude D610, it make my D610 stop working now, Any one know how could I get the D610 BIOS recovered ?

What I have done in the process:
    1. Extract the D610_A06.hdr from the D610_A06.exe
    2. Extract the D610_A06.rom from the DD610_A06.exe
    3. User RW Everything reports get the report of all ACPI
    4. Usre this Tools to modify / insert the Dell B10K SLIC 2.1 to D610_A06.rom.
in this operation, the result is SUCCESS with some msg like unknown module found at xxxx.
    5. I copy all the data in D610_A06_SLIC.rom and replace to the original D610_A06.hdr 's ROM section in Winhex, checksum the ROM and the total hdr, When doing the checksum: ROM crc32+NOT value is different from original, while the total hdr crc+NOT value is same as before I replace the ROM section yet.
    6. GZIP -n D610_A06.hdr to bios.gz
    7. boot to mini dos to do the flashing : D610_A06.exe -readgzfile,
all goes well, while the final result is quite out of my expectation.

It will automatically shutdown in about 10 seconds when I press the power on.

Can anyone show me a solution to recovery the BIOS?
    :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    DELL Latitude D500

I've tried the tool on a DELL Latitude D500 bios ver. A10.
I dowloaded the exe package and then extract the bios file with the switch -writeromfile.
When I load the rom file in the tool it says "Not Phoenix BIOS".
I looked into the file and I found the string PHOENIX so it have to be phoenix.
There are some compatibility issue with this model?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Francesco

Yes, the model must have been sold at one time with Vista pre-installed otherwise we do not have the methods to insert SLIC yet, we can only "upgrade" SLIC from 2.0 to 2.1 at this time

I have the same situation. My D610 was bricked by flashing D610WN09.EXE from Dell thread. So please keep me informed if you find valid combination!!

More and more manufacturers of computers also offers two types of BIOS through x86 and x64. At the forum, I heard an explanation that is not recommended to flash BIOS x64, (Do NOT use winphlash for x64) because it was bios x86 and x64 in the interior of the same. Please expert-ce to explain the BIOS or flash bios x64 or not. Thank you!

I post a new thread but guess I should have posted here, Used your tool to mod the bios for my dell e520, but SLic Dump tool kit reports this Dump OK ! (But SLIC OEM ID or Digital Signature Error !)
And has -- in the marker section under the advance tab and says error in the digital signature
everything reports the slic is there but no marker or error and win 7 will not activate
Any suggestions as too what I should do next ?

it's always best to post a download link to your bios in these situations, an RW everything report doesn't hurt either.
