There seems to be no defence against this, except a very big and huge, real protest: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/dec/29/fbi-coordinated-crackdown-occupy The one that will change the system...
I would like to thank you for making this thread. We are living in an ERA where our privacy is taken for granted. I will be looking into some of the advice given in this thread
Hello @ MS_User - If you just installed Tor and it's the first time you're trying to connect to the network, it can take some time. Once I waited a good 15-20 minutes to connect. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if some ISP's are blocking Tor network nodes. I'll check on DSL Reports and see if anyone else is having the same issue with AT&T.

no i left the tor browser open all night and when i check this morning still trying to establish a link....does ATT now requires a manual configuration on the tor or needs to be bridge or configure the ports for proxy. does anyone here uses ATT had to configure the tor settings please send the info on the configuration....thanx
Latest Tor bundle is installed properly? You have tried it as admin? Make sure communication through port 9150 via SOCKS v5 protocol is possible. Tor uses it. (check anti-virus programs, firewall, web protection etc.) Also check the Tor log. Since version 7 Tor runs inside a sandbox. Maybe try an older version to check if it might be an issue. Alternatively connect to another ISP for a test if it's OS or ISP related. You could use the netstat command.
i have no antis running only the windows defender...i tried bridging i tried proxy settings nothing and run it in admin mode same thing....it sits their trying to connect i think ATT is blocking tor ...i will go to my mothers house next week she uses xfinity i will try their to see if it works.
This is an older article, but nonetheless worth reading. https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2013/10/how_the_nsa_att.html
very interesting ...so NSA uses a tool to kill the tor bundle....but some user are reporting they could connect....now not sure if is just US users being targeted connected to ATT ISP.
