I found several Versions of the Y410, but they all have different CPUs with CPU-ID 06fd.
    7757-57Q T5250 SLA9S 06FDh
    7757-8CQ T5550 SLA4E 06FDh
    7757-33A T7100 SLA4A 06FDh

However, on several webpages, an Y410 with T8100 is supported, which would be CPUID 010676h.
T8100 SLAZD 010676h (also SLAYP, SLAYZ, SLAXG, SLAP9, SLAVJ, SLAUU)
But this one doesn't appear to be supported by the BIOS???

I don't know how exactly the module works, it's new to me at Phoenix BIOSes new style.
But byte sequence 76 06 01 also got 2 hits (at other offsets, though).
Since it only matches at the CUPID related module I guess it's supported.

Is there no support from Lenovo where you could ask for confirmation?

    Hi Yen,
according to cpu-world.com, the CPU-ID of the T8300 is 010676h. I have plugged the 8300 in and it seems to work without any problems. BIOS reports the correct CPU and clocks it at 2400 MHz.

So my assumption at post #22 has turned out to be right.
If one got a match somewhere at this module, then it's supported.
Anyway Lenovo's support is odd, just to say Laptop CPU's cannot be upgraded. They think their customers are stupid and believe everything they say. They just want to make you to buy a new laptop without to upgrade. o_O

    Thanks for your reply. :)
