Can the WAIK be used to update Vista to SP1? If not will we be seeing an SP1 download before March? I have never installed any release of SP1. Is there any way I can find the final build? Thanks for any help
WAIK sp1 can't be used to integrate sp1 to pure rtm. The method to integrate sp1 to rtm is explained in waik sp1 documents and is only by capturing image of an updated sp1 system. (By using sysprep). This means we can't prepare a slipstreamed sp1 dvd using rtm disc and sp1 package by ourselves like we did with Windows XP. SP1 rtm'ed original iso will be released by microsoft itself (already leaked to torrent sites)
Just an update, seems winvistaforums has taken the links down due to bandwidth considerations. Edit: Looks like they put them back up again.
Windows Vista 64-bit SP1 File Name: Windows6.0-KB936330-X64.exe Size: 872 MB (914,983,528 bytes) EDIT by ancestor(v): links removed. Please see global announcement.
Torrent I can say that there is torrents online with 32Bit and 64Bit versions. I don't know if it's allowed to post links ?
