If you read #369 again I have tried to explain why there is no definitive answer. There are different kinds of biosmods and different kinds of loaders...there is no general answer.... a lot of research will be needed when WAT is on...
Well i think thats exactly what i said. With an emphasis on 'Yet'. And that was precisely my point too. Obviously Microsoft wouldnt want to ever see this change, but there already ARE products out there which, if said shift was going to happen, would put Microsofts position on the market in great danger. More software attracts more people and more people using a platform attracts more software producers. You get the idea. And thats why the last thing Microsoft can be interested in is for this shift to ever begin. Pretty obvious too when you look at the big picture...
The servers aren't online yet, so how can it ever detect a bios mod if even the non-encrypted loaders are still running? As far as I know it simply can't. And we must always keep in mind that this may not be the official WAT, if it's not the official one then that means that there are bugs in this one that may have caused the non-genuine report.
Alternatives to Microsoft Interesting thread this, and I have to agree that there are not many apps superior to the MS version. I do think that Google Chrome is better than Internet Explorer. When I first used Chrome I was not too impressed, but tried it again with Win 7 and now use it all the time. As I have commented before it will be interesting to see how good the Google Operating System will be, if they decide to gear it towards the desktop PC as well as mobile devices. Microsoft literally changed my life back in 1982 with the Multiplan spreadsheet running on a Sirius computer. What took hours to produce with a calculator, and then needed typing, could be done in a few minutes once the template was setup.
installed the update on a few test systems and all looks okay so far. what im wondering is if because the servers are not online if wat tries to get the info and cant call home does it go and deactivate win7... does anyone think then the mods using ssv2 or ssv3 will get hit while the dynamic ones do not? if so how would those of us who used ssv2 or 3 mthods use a dynamic mod or can this not be done?? also the person who had their bios mod deactivated where did your win7 version come from? was it one of those preactivated ones going around? or was it a legit matching one from ms? that could also have made a difference. just a thought, also was it instant it got deactivated or did it take a while? lol i never thought id see the day when we would have to possibly switch to a loader from a bios mod.. all i know is i hope not ill have a lot of installs to re-do from the family members arghhh..
please read back some. at first we thought no but now we are nor sure and yes it could or at least a lot of people who said no way are now saying it could affect bios mods.
It's really hard to understand the points you try to make. I understand you are pointing out your own perspective, but your English grammar is making your points impossible to understand, appreciate, or respect. I say respect, because after awhile, when people tell you they don't understand you, you refuse to listen to what others say to you in criticism, hence losing respect. Please try to find someone who can translate your comments to proper English.
The person who has their bios mod deactivated screwed up. He got deactivated not because of the bios, but because he used the blacklisted Lenovo key(22TKD). If you read all his posts you will see he reinstalled win 7 with the blacklisted key(22TKD) again after fruitlessly trying removeWAT et al.
Hello As many have pointed out here, wait and see. I also disagree with the 90 day check. If my OS passes validation once then that should be the end of it. I will prevent my systems from chatting to Microsoft every 90 days. When are these software houses going to get it into there heads the computer is mine the software I run on it is also mine if I paid for it, despite there versions of EUA. Back in the beginning it was understood buying the computer was the big expense not the buggy software to operate it ;-) Microsoft employ a lot of clever people but for every one of them there is another clever person working in open source and even smarter programmers not working for Microsoft. This is why Microsoft cant drop whatever they want into there OS, if they could they would. If they did it would be found out quickly. The lads on here who make stuff, be it loaders or patches are smart enough for that, then they are also smart enough to get round whatever Microsoft decides to drop into our computers in the name of their own security = Profits. For the now this WAT version is voluntary but it wont be for long. By then a workaround for it will have been found if it disables mods and loaders. Cheers
Boys, I dont get the clue. I have a Asus MB, with an Asus Slic, Asus Certificate and Asus Number for Ultimate! What should Microsoft do? They have no chance to get me, because the cant deactive the Asus Number. So, can anybody tell me, why all here have fear from this update (btw. I installed a couple days ago the Update for Rights Management Services Client for Windows 7 (KB979099) and I am still activated). Bye
That update has nothing to do with WAT. Read the whole thread. Update for Microsoft Windows 7 (KB971033) is WAT.
ibega: Yeah, I know. But can anybody stuck my nose in the right directions. Its IMPOSSIBLE for MS do deactivate real BIOS Mods. How will they do it! When they blacklist the key, all original customers with the same key got non genuine. License + SLIC is from original customers. So whats the point with this. I dont believe MS anything. They are liars. Bye
... maybe they clever enough to get your bios date from the registry, and decide it's too old a bios to be legit 2.1 The full story will not be known till 17 Feb, and beyond ... when official WAT released, and servers active
