This is exactly what MS is betting on. There will be a certain % of people that will just throw in the proverbial towel and pay for a copy of Win7. Alot of people have tried these hacks because of the simplicity and when MS throws down the gauntlet these n00bs will drop like flys. Only the hardcore will survive WAT if it becomes a pain in the ass.

    Hello ppl,

I have a moded BIOS with SLIC 2.1 from gigabyte along with a gigabyte cert., but i haven't found a gigabyte key so i'm using Acer's key.
Can MS detect this and remove the genuine status?

    Hi r03ozz and cooljay_4!

Is this already proofed what you are talking about.
WAT need matching Certificate and Serial. IS THIS BULLETPROOF or not? I just heard different people who say WAT dont control this. Only the first leaked Lenovo Key will make problems.

    Bye

as a noob my first computer and OS was windows in 95 since then never needed to buy any software or OS's. now one here knows 100% what will happen in the near future but for now i tried the update and uninstalled it and it worked for now...In my first post I was just letting some people know that you can download it and uninstall it THATS ALL.

All I'm trying to do here is give out some information from my perspective so people can be more educated on the subject. Everyone has their own way of doing things; I was merely making a few points that hadn't yet been mentioned. However, if I am wrong about anything I said, feel free to call me on it so that everyone, including myself, can be better informed.

As far as frequent updates go, it doesn't mean that a script is getting any better. If the goal here is to keep WAT from causing problems, then just hide the update. Like Hazar said, his script is in effect the same as hiding the update. If you don't want to have to worry about looking for the KB to disable from Windows Update, you could always just run this command (before installing WAT):

    Code:
    ECHO.>%windir%\System32\wat
That command simply creates a file called "wat" under System32. The operating system cannot allow a folder to exist in the same location where there is a file with the same name.

look all i no is a person who was in this thread somewere did not have matchin cert and key he reported this to M$ mod and they gave him the benifit of the doubt (it not being pirated) and said buy a new licence key or something to that effect

yen then saw this post on M$ told everyone to keep a eye on that forum.

then the guy that was in that thread became a member on ere and started answering the questions about that on here.

what happaned was he had mismatched key n cert and WAT kicked him off.

LoL.. against me? It's not Yen versus M$...I'm writing down my thoughts, that's all.
Since 17th it'll be entertainment. I know that not everything what I wrote was conclusive.:D

I'm no WAT developer, I'm interested in PC stuff and I like W7, it's the best OS!!
I'm trying WAT when I'll be back (check my signature, please) I cannot join the game from the beginning...:( I'll take this as a challenge, I'm prepared to lose. I remember when I did my first SLIC mod. I was so excited, Vista is a crap anyway and was not worth to be SLICed..I did it for fun like others try to resolve crossword puzzle....
To write here and to read all the posts is nice, I like it much...we are talking about something that's not completed, just for fun.....

This will be my last post until 28.03. I wish you all the best and have fun when playing with WAT.....:doofywave:

    Take it easy...;)

PS: hung-kwan. I hope to see you again here at MDL. Don't be pessimistic about WAT, but realistic.
A good man is prepared to lose, but will try what he can do....
I respect your opinion...I guess it'll be not that bad.....

now that is a clever idea but what about when it gets compusalry to download the update and nobody can install it??

the people that use this will probs forget that they even made another folder in months down the line ;)

Well, it's creating a file actually... not a folder, but I know what you mean. Microsoft said it is an optional update... but that certainly doesn't mean it won't be needed to download future genuine software or optional updates, etc.

How can you steal an OEM key? That key is used by many PC's and it is not unique.

i do no what he means them keys was made for them people who brought the laptops.

not people who leaked it all on the net

    which is stealing ;)

for something you didnt pay and should pay for is stealing

and yes we know alot of them keys was brought by genuie people but alot of them keys was stolen as well ;)

the people who stole them no who they are :)
