Yea, my thoughts would be that eventually they might check for bios mods by their revision date but again if you have everything matching up(Right now it is not possible for some users) and a revision that was made after win7 RTM released to the public you should be fine but again that is just my guess on it. When I mean "Matching up" I mean lets say you have a
    Code:
HP motherboard + an HP SLIC table + an HP Cert + an HP key = Match
but if you have lets say a
    Code:
HP motherboard + an Acer SLIC table + an Acer Cert + an Acer Key = Not Match
I would guess that M$ may check that too in the future if a lot of ppl are still pirating it.

I'm interested in why they made WAT optional. Their other anti piracy methods were made mandatory. This part puzzles me. Is it a privacy issue maybe? Or something else?

no not all the anti piracy was mandatory at the start they always have them optional then force later on to make you have them

i think they only made the WGA manditory for UK and USA last time because piracy was at its highest in them 2 countries everywere else was optional to start with

like what the other guy said M$ will be testing it to make sure it does not mess any legit user up and then release it as a mandatory update via service pack 1

I'm quite sure that M$ is clever enough to think about it. A member has asked about and I have replied. It reads the date already, the idea that a bios made e.g. in the year 2003 wasn't made for W7 activation should be logical to any child. Also I know that to implement the change of the biosdate would be possible for andy's mod tools. This fact M$ also knows...it would be annoying to re-mod the bios that's all...

Duh! My point was, lets assume we dont know if signature servers are avilable or not. If they are not, it wouldnt make sense to schedule next update in 90 days, when it doesnt have intial signatures yet, but ONCE it gets first signatures, it should do next update in 90 days. At least it makes sense for me... But again, lets wait until tomorrow.

    I think it's just building it's muscles.

Into the data base you two go. :)

Once this thing gets it's muscles built up, i think we're screwed.

    hello allll

i guess i willl be a dooms day scenario on 17/02 for all user who activated their OSes with loaders
i am afraid though i have no doubts on the talent of hazer, daz, yen,om dhar, hotcarl etc that this might be the end of all loaders as Yen said

i would say that we might loose the battle as we are not the creators of windows 7 but M$ is.

before on this thread i was seeing HAZER was giving counter mechanisms to the update but now even he seems to be quite,i guess he too knows this id the end.

even Daz have not said anything for too long,i don't know where he is.

please help all of us here and f**k this with something like anti WAT

or do i have to also do a hard mod and will it not be detectable by this F**king WAT

    regards
