wait though i though i remember reading if it found a error then it would try again after like 7 days or soemthing, i have been unable to get wat to call again. so maybe it will not show genuine again till the next call out now??
does not help as already stated by ms. uninstalling wat will not make it go away, from reading it uses a "SELF HEAL" as they said and it seems the only way to fix it is to re - verify again with wat
Wouldn't it be a bit odd for Microsoft to prevent somone from 'getting genuine'? How are people supposed to buy a valid key and solve the WAT problem without blowing everything away? Sounds like they would piss of many potential customers.
If the are confident of their WAT why would they spy. That they spy means WAT would be dead on arrival. Just watch it
What if oem builder were providing official slic2.1 bios updated list to ms ? They could compare the bios id/version to the official list. Lots of bioses, but not so much after all...
that would piss of a gunieue person though if they had to wait 7 days to sort out there system PK should be immedaite id say looks like will be reinstallin then never mind -sighs- OHH ye just to point out i had that wat vaccine code inseted
This is a set of instructions I found over at the MS social site for dealing with the non-genuine flag:- Would you try the below steps? It will force Windows 7 to recreate (and repopulate) it's Licensing Store which I believe will correct the Invalid Data error you are receiveing. 1) Click Start button. 2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field 3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator' 4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes) Note: the Software Protection servive may not be running, this is ok. 5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform 6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar 7) Type: cd %windir%\system32 8) Type: net start sppsvc 9) Type: slui.exe 10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.
That's why it would be handy to let wat read a fake bios, only problem is how to do that cause it seems impossible without editing the wat files and wat doesn't like to be edited
Perhaps if you use a retail or OEM key the genuine status is reflected immediatley. Changing to another OEM SLP key is an unlikely genuine resolution in legitimate circumstances.
