Tito, Quoting what was already said doesn't help since (as I've also said) I've read up on it but it still doesn't make sense to me. Like when someone from Quebec speaks French to me, I can make out a few words and generally get what they're talking about, but I don't have a whole picture. My geek-talk is level 8, not 10. Simple English is required with explanations of what install.wim is or does, what an ESD is and what a WIM is so that the puzzle falls together into something that paints a full picture. In short, tell me in simple terms so that it is clear. If anyone is willing or able to give it a shot, I'm all eyes to read. Just tell me like you're talking to someone that doesn't know anything about software or computers (even though I do). Alpha, Looks like beta testing was a good idea.
Knives, all you really need to know about an ESD file as opposed to a WIM file is that its 'Encrypted and a Highly Compressed WIM file'. You probably know as much as me or more about them, but all i need and know is that.
little scared about that face! one time before i download a tool and when i started it , it formatted my hard drive :/ when its not beta and the face is fixed then I gonna use it=) <3
Thanks, simply awesome...I have googled my brains out trying to come up with an answer to decrypting the esd file...other than sysprep in audit mode-now I have it in your WHD-am one happy camper. (you never know when you might need it) I purchased 8.1 from M$ store and of course the download was esd. After a few moons of fruitless research I got a refund and went out and bought it from Staples-the DVD with a wim file. So, this ESD conversion method is a keeper backed up 5 ways to Sunday....
Little fix to last BETA3 (integration, forgot to resize buttons and listviews) Updated link on first page.
Thank you very much Alphawaves for this wonderful program. I really appreciate all of the work that you put into it. Have a great day.
Hi Alphawaves, I have just tried the Beta 3 version, and unfortunately the download bar only reaches 15% with the bar fully green, after it reaches 15% nothing updates (Percentage or graphic bar), but the downloads do carry on working, and proceeds as normal. I'm using Windows 8.1.1 x64
Thanks for reporting Stimpy88, ive changed the logic (yet again) behind the download progress. Hopefully this time its 100% working, its working fine here. I was also having the same problem as you, although not all the time with pre beta 4. Anyway ill release another Beta this afternoon with the fixed progress (hopefully fixed).
Yeah its hard to programming to not produce false positive alarm. Heuristic methods checking on different ways and find anyway anything in such projects. Bad AV-Systems report nothing about this methods, but say just "VIRUS". Its sad that much peoples not understand why its so.. Good thing, this virustotal.com! Maybe you should add a message in start-post about, alpha? greez
