where is dell1501 2.1slic bios?

    Thanks, I just flashed my 1501 with this file and now rw-everything shows SLIC ver. 2.1, Next time I reinstall Win-7 I'll see how well it worked...

    Thanks from me too! Flashed 3 of my 1501's, Win7 Dell OEM Ultimate running superbly on all three. My hat is tipped to all that invested hours of trial and errors on this one!!

    Nevermind, I was successful in the bios mod using the "phoenix mod tool". Now I have a bios slic 2.1 ready. Windows 7 is already activated. Thanks for the best forum ever!!!. I never even imagine been able to mod a bios. Only after I join your forum. Sorry I'm new, I"m still short to post a link. If anybody would like to use it, as soon as I'm able, or if someone asks for it, I may post it. Windows 7 Ultimate installed & activated right on the first logon

    Ok I inserted 2.1 into the bios.
    RW Everything reports that it's 2.1
    How do I activate 7

    You need to find out your BIOS make and do it yourself.
    The directions are all here.

    If someone uploads an RW-Everything ACPI report against an Inspiron 1501 running BIOS v2.6.3, then we can easily remake the mod.

    I modded my 1501 but all i could find on my hdd was the .rom file(slic 2.1) after it was allready rewritten by the Phoenix tool. I could not find the original apci tables that RW Everything outputs and all bios tools need to mod your bios. If you want the .rom file I can up load it.

    The .rom file + the WinPhlash tool is all that is needed to flash your computer to slic 2.1. That's if you trust me (some stranger on the internet)

    Just download RW Everything, run it, and upload the apci tables to somone here and they will help or

    why can't you use the tools at this site and do it yourself. I figured it out and did it myself. Do a little reading you can do it.

    May need Opa tool. I did.
