Is there any way for delete SoftwareDistribution without go to Safe Mode? I can't access because I hit the screen of Installing updates don't turn off the PC and I need to shut the PC down with the button. Thanks
yeah ...go start menu open services.msc disable WU check it twice then delete it..if don't work open cmd and press this : net stop wuauserv del c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution /q /s net start wuauserv easy
better when you do it check services..cauze sometimes when you disable WU automatically going enabled in secs ...check services.
Does it make more sense to update the original WIM image or one already updated with previous CU, assuming no new SS was released? Does anyone update their offline images with Delta updates instead of CU? Do you get the same exact results/file sizes, etc? Edit: ZOMG, why is 15063.540 to 15063.608 Delta Update so big???
I always take the 15063.0 wims and update them with the most current Sstack, CU and flash update. Never a previously updated (by msft or myself) wim. Delta updates need the previously released CU to be installed/integrated.
That's what I figured is the right approach, but in the end it shouldn't differ from updating an already updated image, assuming both are fully rebased (with Disable ResetBase = 0 in registry). For RS1 I update already-updated image because it already has NetFX 4.7, which means faster total update time. For RS2 I use 15063.483 because 15063.0 had corrupted DISM component store. Last I performed an update from 15063.0 to 15063.332 + full rebase I still ended up with corrupted component store! I skip all that and use 15063.483 because I KNOW it does not have that corruption.
i only got "Windows10.0-KB4038788-x64-EXPRESS" through WU in distribution folder and size about only 30 M .. could i use it in integration with the previous CU "KB4034674" to get latest build iso 15063.608 without downloading the new CU large size
Thank you, new ISO works fine. How I do is I use the1703 March Update ISO, install the 405 Service Stack, and the latest Flash update and the newest CU. It works great. I tried using the June and July update ISOs with the August CU etc. but the 405 Service Stack and that CU would reinstall eventually before this update. Using the March update ISO was my fix.
So far for the Dynamic Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 we kept and used both KB3199389 and the KB4016654. The new KB4039556 replaces both or the latter only?
