Just run "C:\Windows\System32\GWX\GWX.exe" if you want to reserve. (shows near clock) I hope they give you the key.Really don't want to have to upgrade via windows update then extract it to reinstall from an ISO.
delete the windows update files by running a disk cleanup. Read somewhere about the windows update not installing and this is the way. I have just done that to my laptop and i now got that free upgrade notification after installing the KB3035583
Thanks but isn't working here... (no GWX process on Task Manager) I'm gonna try reinstalling the update... Which KB is?
You might be waiting a long time, then... Haven't you heard? In its penultimate wisdom, Microsoft doesn't do service packs anymore. Some PR weenie @ Microsoft decided that "service pack" carries a negative connotation, and infers that Microsoft's software products are less than perfect when shipped, so the term "service pack" is now persona-non-Grata in and around Microsoft. There won't be an SP1 for Win10. Besides, with this huge beta-testing "Insiders" program (which has been fun & annoying at the same time) there's hardly going to be any pressing need for SP1--the Win10 RTM should be the equivalent of SP3 when it ships...!
Funny that people actually are happy with adware installed....I know that w10 will be released soon, but I don't need nag screens on my w7.
Here is a plan, let's all join together and make Win 10 a big flop, then they might offer us a free laptop with the next Windows !
just few curious question just OEM & Retail is valid license to Windows 10 right? what about another license like MAK, or KMS? or with DAZ loader (windows 7)
Has anyone seen the upgrade notification on a PC running in VirtualBox (or any other virtual machine)? I've seen the notification on a PC running Win7 Ultimate (activated with Daz loader) and 2 PCs running Win8.1 Pro KMS activated, but I haven't seen it on any of my VirtualBox PCs (7 or 8.1). Wonder if it detects the virtual environment and doesn't display the notification?
This is what I'm wondering as well. I don't care about upgrades being free, all I want to know is how I can make an iso of Windows 10 RTM, which is activated on install. I'm confused, like Fardeen. I'm sure I can create a genuine installation when I upgrade from my 8.1ProWMC (free key), but what about reinstalls? It can't be as simple as a free iso/esd, that auto-activates, now can it? And if not, maybe we should create a new (sticky) topic about this?
