LCU is still integrated in 22631.2361 build

 

I'm talking about what is actually on the MVS ISO. Once the ISO is installed to a system, the setup process may apply the LCU to the Winre.wim in the installed recovery partition. That may be so. But if you extract the install.wim from the MVS ISO, mount it, and remove the Winre.wim from the Windows\System32\Recovery folder, and mount that, that Winre.wim only has an SSU, and Winre update applied to it. If you place that particular Winre.wim in your recovery partition, you can still boot fine to the Recovery partition, even if it is just 22621.1.

As previously mentioned, the problem with adding SSUs and LCUs to the Winre.wim is that it just gets inflated and won't fit on the Recovery partition.

 

Does msft create the MVS ISOs in an other way than the IP ISOs?

OK, thanks for making me take a second look at what's in the Winre.wim on the latest MVS ISO.
The LCU is, in fact, listed as being integrated into the Winre.wim.
It shows up as: Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~22621.2283.1.8

What made you not see the order of integration on the actual 22631.2361 ISO?

 

I was looking for a KB instead of the term RollupFix.
Cut me some slack, I am over 70 years old, and I'm entitled to a retired Senior Moment once-in-awhile.
To err is human. But to really make a mistake requires a computer.

 

That's why i never use winre.wim

 

Yeah I've been adding DaRT as well & only recently realized by "quick_install" batch file was only making a 500gb recovery partition (my normal install_os batch makes a 650gb). Doh!
I find having winre.wim handy for systems that need a pc reset but can't boot to the os. Sure a clean install is quick but then I'd need to worry about user documents, etc...

So, none of those OOBE KBs (KB5030323, KB5026039 & KB5029517) are there for 22621.2361

& KB5030323 more specifically for 23H2 build?
