Don't knock it till you've tried it; IE with max security, that is. I've used it on a Server and it was a far better ad-blocker than any chrome or firefox adblocker program Plus it won't run hardly anything without your permission.
That was the reason why I have posted. For banking no major updated browsers, established versions that are already used a longer period. Here is not the newer, the better. Banks need their time to eventually adjust their sites. I have not said not to use M$ IE, I have said it is careless to use IE11 already. Anyway this would be a reason to change the bank. I don't let enforce myself which browser I have to use when it comes to banking. The ability to block ads is not a major aspect of security. IE is known to be weak when it comes to malware. Their updates are not frequently / effective enough.
I'm using Firefox v24.0 for my all sensitive online transactions. Are there any security issues with it, any idea?
I use FF also. Never had an issue. Important IMHO is to do it in a extra session. Means to start FF, do banking only and exit FF, close all windows. Of course no offline stored data (history). DL speed is fast enough to browse without any offline history and SSD / HDD cache. OF course always enter original bank url every time manually to avoid phishing. I would not use w8.1 for banking yet. It'll get a GA update. Until then I suspect your bank is ready for IE11. Use IE10. I cannot recommend to use an OS for sensitive transactions until it is available for the majority. Many users--> many situations to find issues--->safer OS-->safer browsing. No serious company would use w8.1 for sensitive transactions already now.
It depends how you use it I suppose. If you allow it access to run certain kinds of scripting, then yes you could have people doing some bad stuff to your system. There's probably some way to disable that stuff though... I'm just not very sophisticated. I typically use Chrome and just avoid hacking/warez sites...
I never use iBanking again after got infos about that the data was also submitted to an Gov Agency in Thailand! Therefore for me, no any question or problem about! I just was get to know that several big Thai Banks didn't accepting other browsers than IE for their iBanking connection and procedures.!
