Does this mean I dont have to integrate 2981666 & 3005608 to the boot.wim anymore? Or are they not fully superseded by KB3000850?
For 2981666 (WDS) it's your choice, becuase it's include same version but after verifying, 3005608 is fully superseded, and you have to integrate KB3000850 to get newer setup components bottom line, integrate KB3000850 to all WIM files btw, KB3000850 has new setup.exe (the small one that resides outside sources folder) this file didn't get updated even in Update1
...not seeing this in the root of the offline folder; setup.exe is still 6.3.9600.16384, 76KB, 3/18/2014......missing something am I?
Offline folder? it's included in KB3000850, not sure if it's applied automatically when integrating KB3000850 to boot.wim:2, or need manual replacement
Here is an interesting result i got regarding KB2920189 and KB2975061 as listed above, KB2920189 components are included in KB3000850 and btw, KB2920189 got re-released this month (same binaries) and now include KB2975061 as companion but since KB2975061 is superseded for Update systems, i wondered how WU would be able to install it with KB2920189 so i uninstalled KB2920189, went to WU and it showed up (bundled with KB2975061) i choose it only and clicked install (while sniffing http addresses), only KB2975061 got downloaded and actually installed ! checked WU again and KB2920189 no longer showing went to installed updates and only KB2975061 listed so, installing KB2920189 or KB2975061 will suppress KB2920189 now the funny question is, which one is better to install? KB2975061 components are completely inactive KB2920189 components are already active without it MS guy reading this, fix it at least bundle KB2989647 with KB2920189 since both require KB2919355
By offline folder I mean that folder on my harddrive where I copied the entire Windows DVD and it is this folder that contains any and all modifications, update integration for all wim's etc. I should have just said the root of the ISO, but, trust me to make things more complicated. The setup.exe is automatically updated in the boot wim index 2 sources folder upon KB3000850 integration afterwhich it must be manually copied to the "DVD" sources folder; as you pointed out previously-"Copy setup.exe of boot wim 2 source to iso's source folder". By "KB3000850 has new setup.exe (the small one that resides outside sources folder)" I'm assuming you mean that setup.exe at the root of the ISO, but, seems I am wrong?
Both files are updated, setup.exe outside sources and setup.exe inside sources so you copy both to ISO distribution
Out of curiosity, how did you find out the 76KB setup.exe at the root of the ISO is updated too; something in the packages.txt or....? Thanks for the clarification.
Has anybody tried to make an upto date .iso with this latest Nov Rollup ? Is there a list anywhere of what exactly needs integrating to have a fully upto date .iso ??
Cheers for that heads up. I only have license for Core version only though so I don't think i can use those Pro VL iso's. Plus the latest one on that site doesn't have this latest Nov rollup included
Maybe tonight, maybe after next month patch tuesday i'm still trying to figure out the best way to handle KB3000850 effects, specially the replaced updates showing in WU
