Dear abbodi Just wanted to know one small thing. I have 8.1 update 1 iso installed. Among the april updates, I am getting 2919355 (116MB). I downloaded the 2919355 posted 8 April 2014 from MS (690MB). So I can just go ahead and apply the 690MB and keep that in my local repository. I really do not want to waste 116MB downloading from Win. update every time on fresh instaLL.
So I download the kb2934018 x64 (126MB) released yesterday, install it, and then I will not get kb2919355. Sorry for being so naive, but if you could understand I am in India, the updates came in the morn, I am in the office right now, and so will do the patching in the evening. Have downloaded all updates though. Also abbodi somewhat OT, but office 2013 x64 had a mega sized 1 GB update. One particular update visio 2837632 is 488MB. Do I really it as I do not use visio. My office version is office pro plus x64 with sp1.
Weird, I installed the Udpdate ISO last Thursday when it came out and WU offered KB2928680, Today I installed it again and it didnt offer KB2928680, very strange.
The office updates you download with the full files have all the corresponding language versions. If you download through Microsoft Update, it will be much smaller.
That is 488MB even on windows update. The offline download is also the same size, so no difference. But yes in most cases, windows update is smaller than offline installer. I extract the x-none files from that. This time though, almost all update sizes for office 2013 on windows updates are close to equal than on offline download/MS download. Please also about 2919355 and 2934018. Should I just install 2919355 (690MB) from MS download to satisfy the windows update 2919355 (116MB). Or is 2934018 (126MB)/MS download = windows update 2919355 (116MB).
The kb2934018 will satisfy the 2919355 portion of Windows Update. They put them in the same update download. If you run kb2934018 it will go away.
Thanks. So I will install 2934018 and windows update will not then offer 2919355. I will see that tonight. In India, we have 5-yearly parliament elections tomorrow in our city (Delhi) to elect the Central Government and so it is a holiday. Gives me a lot of time. Our elections go on in multiple phases in different states and whole India will be on elections from 7 April to 2nd week of May. In that case since I have a update 1 iso, I will just delete 2919355 from local disk and save 690MB.
Just installed the new iso and then installed KB2934018 and this is what is now offered via windows update... View attachment 28133
