Hello, when I use the Update1 ISO like the following (in test VM): en_windows_8.1_enterprise_with_update_x64_dvd_4065178.iso Windows Update requests kb2919355 again even when no language pack was added. It installs kb2919355, kb2932046, kb2937592, kb2938439 and kb2934018 from it, so NOT only the last one as I thought... Does anybody know why? (I only enabled these features by DISM before I runned Windows Update: SimpleTCP, TelnetClient, NetFX3.)
I've downloaded all the updates, installed KB 2934018 on clean image;still I do not have the 17041 build...
Today I integrated KB2934018+LIPs+NETFX+WMC+DeDup+WTG to en_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd using my ToolKit and when checked for Windows update , yes indeed shows up KB2919355 This are the list of Windows Updates shown: Spoiler Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2942844) Update for Microsoft Camera Codec Pack for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2899189) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2894853) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2933809) Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2 x64 Edition - April 2014 (KB890830) May be the order of Integration has to be changed like first enable features you need and then integrate the update KB2934018
According to Komm from the latest KUC-post update 1 and satisfy M$ update: Spoiler 2014-04-09 removed: 2835517 2939087-old 2938527 2940133 2941317 2942909 2949621 2950166 2939471 2939471DVD added: 2917011new IIS 2929699Media Feature Pack for N and KN 2919355 2934018 2942883 Enterprise Mode Site List Manager 2933811DVD 2953600DVD 2928193 2933809 2942844 2954879 2956283 IE11 2957390 IIS 2914206 2926991 2936111 2929869 2936897DVD M$ update satisfied.
The interesting fact is, that all of these updates have to be integrated to have system without update requests on the new ISOs (with Update): kb2942844 kb2899189 kb2894853 kb2933809 kb2939087 ...what is quite normal... ...but also: kb2919355 kb2932046 kb2937592 kb2938439 kb2934018 ...in the other words, the WHOLE -355 pack has to be integrated AGAIN (except kb2919442 and kb2939087), even with no additional language pack applied, what I consider quite strange...
Hmm ... integrated KB2934018 offline, then installed in Audit Mode, the only updates that were offered: Code: ComputerName Date KB Title ------------ ---- -- ----- 666-PC 12.04.2014 03:48:38 KB2933809 Update für Windows 8.1 für x64-Systeme (... 666-PC 12.04.2014 03:48:35 KB2942844 Sicherheitsupdate für Internet Explorer ... 666-PC 12.04.2014 03:48:33 KB2894853 Update für Windows 8.1 für x64-Systeme (...
As s1ave77 said, integrating 2934018 is enough to not have 2919355 showed in WU, unless you enabled any feature
Yep same here (got ready by now ): Code: ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ Checking All Indices ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ WIM: j:\win\install.wim ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ IND MODIFIED LP ARC BUILD EDITION ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ [1] 13.04.2014 DE x64 6.3.9600.17056 Windows 8.1 ProfessionalWMC [2] 13.04.2014 DE x64 6.3.9600.17056 Windows 8.1 Professional [3] 13.04.2014 DE x64 6.3.9600.17056 Windows 8.1 Core ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .
Only what I did, was enabling SimpleTCP, TelnetClient and NetFX3 by DISM /online... Code: DISM /online /enable-feature /featurename:SimpleTCP /featurename:TelnetClient /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:D:\sources\sxs /All /LimitAccess ...in my case WHOLE -355 pack (cca 800MB) requests to be reapplied... *< Strange...
Update: W8-1-1 asks for -355, even when no features are added: View attachment 28264 This was taken just after installation from: en_windows_8.1_enterprise_with_update_x86_dvd_4065185.iso You can notice: 1. Pinned Windows Store 2. ISO image ...update_x86_dvd_4065185.iso in the VM settings 3. Requested updates Edit: ...but wait, that is just 77MB (-018), I will enable features in the next step...
Notice the size of the offered -355, it's only 71,1 MB . Unfortunately the new -355 is a bundle of updates now (although WU doesn`t show the actual offered KB). When you try to download it manually from MS you will see what's included. EDIT: Code: File Name Size Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu 690.8 MB Windows8.1-KB2932046-x64.msu 48.0 MB Windows8.1-KB2934018-x64.msu 126.4 MB Windows8.1-KB2937592-x64.msu 303 KB Windows8.1-KB2938439-x64.msu 19.6 MB
I noticed and edited the post above, however on the other installation it request full 800MB. I still have to figure out the difference...
Again integrated kb2934018 to windows 8.1 pro x86 without enabling or adding anything extra and checked the windows update and this time the kb2919355 is not listed but these updates are listed KB2942844 KB2899189 KB2894853 KB2933809 KB890830 it's strange if we enable features it will ask for kb2919355 but the size of the kb2919355 will vary depending upon the features added, before I was offered KB2919355 (685 MB) Update.
It was MS WU error and it was corrected today. (When only -018 was needed, MS offered the rest of the pack as well in some "scenarios".) However, with the new ISO I receive quite many errors, when checking for new updates (on new installations)... I will have to report again... )
The showed size does not mean it's the downloaded size WU uses express install method, and download only applicable components/resources you can try this just for fun add LP online, goto WU, it will show the whole kb2919355 size but during the download process you will see that the showed size get smaller
