It just doesn't make sense to me... I think it's just a rumor. I doubt this. Why would they release Windows 8.1, an update that's been in work for almost a year, and then 2-3 months later release an entire new point release. It's possible they'll be doing another big roll-up update, but I'm not sure about Windows 8.2....
I have to call BS on this one...I haven't been able to find any reputable sources confirming this is the case. Now, I 'have' seen some articles talking about restoring the original start menu format, but if it is true it won't be available to the general public until towards the end of 2014.
They are developing it forwards to windows 7. If it should boot per default to desktop I might rethink its usefulness.
The source has already been identified as BS. Just some speculation/wish list by some idle tech writer. Could be true but nothing official about it.
If this was April 1st I'd have thought it was a joke. It would be great if they did all this but I just find it hard to believe with the recent 8.1 update.

For some reason I could see them doing this releasing another update 8.2 just to add in the start menu, some other updates and tweaks.
