After you have used the KMS server that is taken down now, you might: Reset KMS host (slmgr /ckms) Reset Renewal count, see below (reset to 30 days, Default this is 7 days, decimal value=10080) Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\VLRenewalInterval Code: decimal value=43200
Very good thread, thanks for clearing it up. I see everything written here to be fully correct FreeStyler, the KMS server already set it up to 43200 minutes
Did you really think anyone is reading posts here? I liked the idea behind this topic but with the audience we have here this topic already is doomed, trust me this will only get worse In a few hours we have 2 topics with the same questions, over and over again...
Not sure if trolling or just stupid :/ Read the OP! Thats the whole point in this TOPIC! Read the Red man read the RED! I hope your face's are as RED as the text!
Very informative post! Is there any information concerning the reasons behind the takedown? Was the server made private again? I hope I won't have to reinstall Windows, for whatever reason, in the next few days, or I won't be able to activate again...
Ah, ok...i just checked on my Server 2012 Standard i activated using the KMS host, the value there was 7 days
Hm strange, I activated several versions with 43200 minutes. Oh well, a useful thing to check in the registry anyway.
So was kms-c.no-ip.org really taken down... or MS just pulled some strings to make kms-c.no-ip.org point to 127.0.0.1 instead of the fake server IP? If so, did anyone saved to server IP before it started pointing to 127.0.0.1? If so, the server might still be up, we just don't know the address.
It is my understanding that the KMS server was suppose to be kept for the WZOR community, and that the server may have been taken down because it was made more public than intended. Again, I'm not 100% sure about this, as I don't have WZOR access.
