    It will just keep running. If it gets activated and keeps running it wont reactivate. You wont lose your activation if it keeps running.

    What exactly does a mini KMS do? I think if it actually emulates a KMS host, there's no need for a key then. . . AFAIK a key is only needed when you want to activate the KMS host and give it permission to activate other KMS clients on the network. Normally, no extra configuration or Internet connection is required on the clients part. If we could create a KMS server (host) that responded to KMS clients the same way a legitimate KMS host would, then no key would be needed. Am I right?

    The activation servers are down at the moment. That script will run so when it does come back up you don't have to do anything. It will automatically activate.

    Do clients use encrypted connections to communicate to KMS hosts?

    Okay, I done litlle research and find out that to run kms server we need Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 and [FONT=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]KB2691586 hotfix. Whats next?[/FONT]

    Next step would be to set up a client and a host . . . install and start wireshark on the host. try to activate the host and the client and then see what's going on for example on tcp port 1688 !!! Has anyone tried that yet ?

    This is not a simple project you can do in minutes . . . I am just throwing some ideas to see if MDL experts and hackers have considered these things or not. I personally would just wait for a Russian KMS release but maybe there are some enthusiasts here who would have the time . . .

    Not easy like that. you need KMS host key for Win 8 or Server 2012 to activate server. No key leaked yet
