This seems like an ideal solution (provided you have a server on your lan) , Can anyone provide more information on the kms hyperv solution (KMS_C_R2.rar) It dosnt seem to be working on my end ive got processes listning on 1688 in the vm and the firewall completly disabled yet no clients can activate Code: using slmgr /skms 10.0.0.15 slmgr /ato or Code: slmgr /skms 10.0.0.15:1688 slmgr /ato Has this method been killed too ? If not does anyone know the vlk used in the image or noip server for use with slmgr /ipk (i loath server core and allready have a 2008 r2 server) Thanks
Ok, I have been updating this thread for a while awaiting any new information I can find. I am going to take a break for a little bit as I don't see too much changing. I'll continue to monitor things when I wake back up. Good luck everyone.
I've stickied it already. @ The Spider: Thanks a lot for your hard work. We'd need more of such helpful members. THX a lot. Yen.
Yes, I do. Microsoft could fill a complaint to no-ip.com and they could give them the control of that host name and point it wherever they want. Of course that No-IP would have to cooperate with Microsoft... they can't just take ownership of that host name just by magic
It actually does. I have new information to report hapilly. After a lot of digging around i figured out the following: You can use the KMS_C_R2.rar. This is how I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I am using VMWare Workstation 8.0.4 Using VMWare create a Windows 8 Enterprise installation and enable Virtualization Technologies in VMWare and edit the new Windows 8 vmx file and add hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = “FALSE” at the bottom of that file and start your VM. IN WINDOWS 8 goto Programs and Features / Turn Windows Features on/off and install Hyper-V. Restart and now goto Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Hyper-V Manager Import Virtual Machine Then select the extracted folder KMS_C_R2 Start the machine IN WINDOWS 7 Download Microsoft Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) from microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7887 Once installed goto Programs and Features / Windows Features and under Remote Administration Server Tools --> Role Administration Tools enable Hyper-V Tools and connect to remote server, the W8 server IP I am using unity mode with VMWare Workstation so this step is not necessary for me. the follow the instructions at Step 1 youtube.com/watch?v=MrO0KsBnI8A&feature=plcp Step 2 youtube.com/watch?v=4MvNbR0yT0U&feature=plcp Step 3 youtube.com/watch?v=knwyjXyIJds&feature=plcp Hope this helps
