Windows update installs .net framework 4.7.2. For w10 it's included in the CU and for W7 it's an optional update. So let's forgot implementation for 3.5.1 and do the job only once.
Couple of load time measurements for wumgt V1.0.0.0. Systems are all English Language with.NET 4.7.2 installed)- Win 8.1 Pro (v6.3 Build 9600) abt 14 sec Win 10 1703 VM (15063.1209) abt 3 min 51 sec (!!!) Win 10 1709 VM (16299.551)) abt 5.5 sec Hope 1703 results are anomalous but, though I would report, anyway. The 1709 image is an upgrade of the 1703 image; the 1703 image is an upgrade of a 1511 image (which, of course, does not support .NET 4.7.2) All three test VMs and the Win 8.1 system have been running normally for many months.
@rogierius Just fyi, @DavidXanatos baptized his program as Windows Update Manager and nicknamed it as wumgr or WUMGR if you like not WUM. Fwiw, when I read your posts I was kinda like huh??? what's WUM... Oh, ah, oh, ok, he means wumgr /lol

@DavidXanatos thanks v0.2b worked on my 1803 and fyi previous version didn't work for me even though i have .net 3.5 and 4.7.2 installed. anyway, i've few questions, -include driver option have 3 option in check box empty, tick mark and box fill, whats the 3rd one means? -what is the use of offline updates and wsusscn2.cab? i guess their use is to updates office? please provide a clear explanation. -offline update with wsusscn2.cab update check showed me that a cu is pending but without offline check it shows its uptodate? -please also explain other update source uses in the options. few suggestions. -offline updates with wsusscn2.cab is selected by default, please change it to non offline with windows update as i suppose everyone may not like to download additional 387MB file. -add the option to update the app on the fly when app opens as patchmypc app does that. or atleast add the option to check for update. -there is a spelling mistake in option group policy Schleduled Instalation also just want to let everyone know that peaceful manual updates is possible with @BALTAGY's stopwinupdates + wumgr previously wumt didn't work with stopwinupdates but wumgr works fine.
For me i can't run it on V1803 64Bit Enterprise nothing happen, and on 1709 Enterprise i get same error as @pf100 posted above It only worked on LTSB Enterprise
@DavidXanatos just tested, now even previous releases are working fine now in my 1803 pro x64 install, and they all didnt work yesterday in my system. so its not exactly v0.2b which fixed the issue but something else, and i tested\install too many soft yesterday so i cant figure out what exactly helped it to run.
