There is no way better to say it, Norton sucks, it's bloatware, snake oil (Paul D.) and if you wish to get rid of Norton, plan on reformatting, back in the day Norton Ghost was OK. Windows Defender is as good as Norton's AV.
I used to have Kaspersky AV, man talk about slowing your computer down, I let it go, just stay with Windows Defender now, have had no problems, some people say it's for malware, but if you look on front of it it says virus and spyware definitions so it's good enough for me.
Would be nice if WUMT had version checking so it would let users know there is a new version. So I don't have to constantly manually check the forum for updates... Either popup or just a small icon or text that would let you know there is a new version. Like for example, flashing version number in the lower left corner. No new version = static version number text New version available = version number text blinking on and off (flashing) Not as intrusive as actual popup but would let you know that there is a new version.
