Just installed Windows 10 Build 14316 and I am getting BSODs when using WUMT. It has crashed my computer three out of four times when Checking for updates. BSOD indicates System Service Exception referenced to win32kbase.sys. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
I did an update to 14316 from 14291 via mounted ISO route. The first time I ran WUMT there were no problems. The second time I ran WUMT Windows BSODed as described above with the win32kbase.sys notation. I know that according to Device Manager the graphics driver is the same one used in the past several builds. I also noted that the Windows Update panel in 14316 has some significant changes. I do not know if these changes could be responsible for the BSODs or not. All I can say is that WUMT has worked great for months and now with 14316 not so great. For now I will use the Windows Defender interface to do definition updates which is OK but not preferred.
help - windows mini update tool First off - I apologize for my ignorance - i have read all the forum messages regarding the wonders of the mini tool and the takecontrol.bat - and I have to say I've got no clue (a little bit maybe) what to do with it. My problem is my security permissions are all screwed up and I have tried going to each folder on the drive looking at permissions/ownership blah blah blah - I just wanted something that would quickly and accurately fix all my permissions at once and forever and ever. I put the 'code' that was in one of your messages but I can't figure out how to use the mini tool link it just keeps bringing me back to the user - I guess I was expecting a bit more gui and if i have posted in wrong spot - i do apologize
What do you mean? You said RIP cause you see no activity here? Well, Wumt is working fine so far so no need to update or fix anything.
I can search for the error code myself everything is working normal, searching WU, installing, showing installed updates except Update History
