Thanks Shewolf. That mini update tool worked on Windows XP Pro. Just had to use the 2016 version and not the 2022 version.
I have used the your workaround (Using OpenSSL and PHP method) sadly has worked only one time. After the install the updates and reboot appares again the 0x80072EFE error. Before to write this post i have make an fresh installaton with default settings to avoid system file corrupted but with same result and i have already replaced wuaueng.dll on C:\Windows\System32\ with the patched version Where is my mistake, how i can solve this issue? Thank you for your help : )
Thanks for the link. I read through the docs and this looks too complicated for me. I guess I'll just stick to pausing updates every 4 weeks or so. Thanks, Bill
This seems a little strange as folks in this thread have talked about using WUMT with Win 11 Home. Oh well. I guess I'll just stick with pausing updates every 4 weeks or so. Thanks, Bill
@Jingzin I don't like to play around with things like the registry. I'm just an old guy with minimal technical expertise. Thanks for the suggestion though. Soundd like a solution that might work for a lot of more technical people. Thanks, Bill
Do you know if I would still be able to use WUMT if I disable Windows Update using Winaerotweaker? Thank!
Never checked, for sure it doesn't disable the service (something which blocks even the manual install of MSUs). BTW there isn't any reboot needed, you can enable and disable at will in any moment.
OK. Thanks. This may be a way that even I could handle. I'll test it and see if WUMT still works. Thanks for the idea.
