Will it work if i use an Asus xrm and key instead of HP? It´s just that i dont have any hp key for home basic. Tx
No, you will need to patch ACPIWOW.EXE with asus slic first. Yen knows how and i am sure he can make an ASUS installer.
Hello, I've tested WoW6 with a brand new Vista SP1 MSDN on my Compaq N620c and the activation was not successful. I am not sure that I am doing it right, here are the steps i've made: - Burn WoW CD image to a blank CD (as image) - Disabled UAC - Changed Product Key to the one provided by Yen (right-click on Computer -> Change Product Key) - Put the CD and boot of it (CD-ROM is first on BIOS boot priority) It looks it's booting from the CD, the blinking cursor jumps one tab after BIOS, and there is a slight delay (doesn't happen with booting from HDD). Please correct me if I'm doing something wrong. Regards, Todor
Hi Yen, I really hope your WOW-tool will help my Vista get activated. I have been searching for days, probably tried all Vistaloaders out there but they just don't seem to work on my pc... I have an Intel i7 920 CPU and an Intel DX58SO motherboard. I think the reason those Vistaloaders don't work on it is because of the SLIC or something? I have another pc here (Intel Quad Core with Gigabyte MB) and there the Vistaloaders work fine... I would really appreciate it if you could let me know if your WOW-tool will work on my pc. And if not, could you please give me the reason why those Vistaloaders seem to work on almost any pc except this i7 on an Intel motherboard... Thanks a lot in advance!
Ralph659: Post your AcpiScope bios report so we can take a look at it and let you know if WoW will work. Yen: I just tested WoW5.2.3_NOMBR_HP in VMWARE 6.5 and 6.0 and there is a big problem! Looks like grub.exe hangs everytime with "Probing ROM INT vectors. If hang, unload a device or TSR and try again. 00, 01, 02...." I found this out after replacing with org grub.exe. I even tried the latest version and samething happens. I don't know whats causing it but it could do MS code. If this is the case, we need to go back to renaming bootmgr and mbr versions.
Hp 530 Hi... Thanks for this solution to activate Vista... But I have one little problem... My Vista Home Premium on HP 530 is activated when the boot CD with WoW6 is in... but when the boot CD is out of my notebook my Vista is not Activated... Help??? Thanks...
I tried to create an Acpiscope report but that Acpiscope program doesn't seem to work on a 64bit Vista... Can you do something with the image I took in Everest (in attachment)? The moment the screenshot was taken, I had a VistaLoader installed. I think without the VistaLoader, I don't think you would see the SLIC-row... I have an Intel i7 920 CPU and an Intel DX58SO motherboard. I have tried several Vista loaders but they don't seem to get my Vista activated... Do you think Wow will help?
flagmax Have a look at this: Is the problem present with Vmware at WoW visible as well (original grub files, no invisible patches) ? We have to check if the 'invisible' grldr is the reason for that issue......grldr is probably patched too much.....I'm not at home can't test anything........... @all It will take more time till WoW6 installer will be available...we have to fix an issue.......
I tried with wow 5.2.3, but now I have no activated Vista.... It same, when I start my PC with CD or without CD.... Vista is no activated with wow 5.2.3... With wow 6 Vista was activated when I start my PC with boot CD... but when I start without CD, Vista is no activated... Regards,
Hum.... Test with vmware 6.5.1_Build_126130 => no problem, (don't try to activated) system boot with the invisible! Test with VPC 2007 => no problem, (don't try to activated) system boot EDIT : This is when grldr can't find menu.lst @yen => test with old version with command.com..... This is a memory problem with bios, so some computer can boot with no problem.
If Vistaloader adds SLIC then you should be able to activate. Just find a matching certificate and key. You need to select SLIC in the screenshot to see what OEM ID is. edit: If your bios already has SLIC thats blank, then WOW should work for you. To see if its a blank, you need to use ACPISCOPE or RW Everything or HWDirect to dump your SLIC. A blank/half mapped SLIC looks like: Code: 53 4C 49 43 76 01 00 00 01 81 48 50 51 4F 45 4D 53 4C 49 43 2D 4D 50 43 01 00 00 00 48 50 20 20 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
