What exactly didn't work? There are only three results: First: String was written and persists at reboot. Second: String was written, but didn't survive reboot and third: String was not written at all! The result will be always one of those three no matter what string (except it is too long). Anyway this is no problem! What programm did you use to flash your original bios? @bios! I think you have to check to write /clear DMI area. Have a look at your flash tool to see how to enable this option. IMO you just have to check: clear dmi data pool and flash bios again. At DOS its additional switch is /CD to Clear Dmi data.(for Awdflash) At FLASH891 just type FLASH891 yourbios.bin /-G When you are using the 'HP PAVILION' OEM files you have to insert the 'HP PAVILION' string instead of 'Hewlett'.
