1903 has a completely different servicing model, closer to Vista/7 service packs. Updates now supersede original system packages on package name level, so when you resetbase there is truly no trace of the original component versions — not even the manifests. This should make it much easier to use a updated ISO for slipstreaming, as there are no old “updates” on it for slipstreaming, just old versions of some packages, exactly as on the original ISO. EDIT: Unfortunately that does not apply to the servicing stack — still seems the only way of removing old superseded SS updates is the hack with changing package state in registry and removing permanence from the .mum
