[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Enterprise (N) LTSC 2019

Love StartIsBack!! Best $3 spent on an app pretty much ever. Been using it a few years.

And yes, I know about Classic Shell, just prefer StartIsBack, have tried both.

i used ntlite to delete all modern apps from iso before install. cleanest ltsc ever

 

Can anyone help me with being able to open links from other applications? If I click on links in a messenger my web browser refuses to open them.

Can you tell us what did you deleted/tweaked? I'm thinking about creating a super clean version from the LTSC 2019 when the next iso comes out..

i have never felt the need to delete "modern apps" from ltsb other than (n)onedrive .

am surprised ltsc needs deleting of "modern apps" !

Just clean installed LTSC 2019 on a new laptop... seems everything worked. Did not have to remove OneDrive either... as it did not show up by default on startup.

Only small glitch I noticed was "Defender icon" still show in system tray even when Kaspersky Antivirus was installed. It should go away automatically... but may be some update needed on Kaspersky/Windows side.

Another small thing... is there a way to kill oobe and login straight as Administrator ? Like we used to have in Windows 7 to press F10 and kill msoobe and enable Administrator... I always miss that on window 8 onwards. Is handy when doing some Lab installs.

 

Will anyone actually upload those ISOs or will we just have to stick with the currently available LTSC ones?

 

I'd like to slim down LTSC 2019 a bit of the extra bloat still on it but I'm not sure which program to use. I tried Winreducer but it's a bit obnoxious to use unactivated and NTLite excludes a lot of options. MSMG ToolKit doesn't seem to support the October update yet. Any suggestions?

 

NTLite Free is enough to do what you need to on ltsc

Guys thanks you all for the replies...i've tried NTLite and it's what i was looking for.
To remove the windows packages i was using the install_wim_tweak.exe with dism method (is well documented in this forum) but since the 1809 the Microsoft-Windows-Cortana package is hidden or at least cannot be discovered by the install_wim_tweak and hence it can't be removed.

I have downloaded the google drive iso file from this forum. I am not able to get windows installed. I am getting the error: "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install windows, restart the installation." I don't know what to do and am not sure if this is a common issue. any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Hello, I got a question about the differences between LTSB 2016 and LTSC 2019.

I got a legit LTSB 2016 product key that activates no problem but it fails to activate LTSC 2019. Does anyone know why that would be?

My understanding is that the two are pretty much identical in functionality/leanness. However, can either be activated permanently (no 6 month interval)? LTSC is VL, so my guess is that it cannot. However, afaik, server 2019 has retail versions. Is that the go-to edition then? What is the upgrade path for that?
I'm on 1803 Education.
