I'll try that, but I've never had OfficeRTool install something it couldn't activate. In fact it can often activate what it didn't install. Side note: I tried fully uninstalling Office using Microsoft's Support And Recovery Assistance tool and reinstalling wit O2016RT but no dice.
I have a problem the other way around: Thanks to the help here, I have downloaded the VL ISO files for Office 2016 Pro Plus. Now I would like to activate the MSI-based installation using a key for the CTR version. Is there any way to do that? Background: I am neither interested in volume licensing nor in circumventing activation in any way. In fact, we have a MAPS (Microsoft Action Pack Subscription) which exactly fits our needs regarding the internal use rights. Unfortunately, the software which we can download from the MS partner center is the CTR version. In general, I don't have a problem with that, but Microsoft has incorporated a catastrophic bug into Access 2016, which prevents nearly all software we have developed for our customers from running with Office 2016. Microsoft has made a fix for the bug, but -and this is the key point- that fix can only be applied against the MSI-based setup of Office 2016, but not against the CTR versions. If somebody is interested in the bug and its remedy: It is described in KB3115503 (I am not yet allowed to post links here ...) To summarize, I don't need Office 2016 licensed by a volume license server or to circumvent licensing in any way. But I need to have an MSI-based Office 2016 setup because I can't apply that Access 2016 hotfix (which is of utmost importance for us) against the CTR version. However, of course, I would like to active Office with the key from our MAPS subscription. Any ideas?
In OfficeRTool, when installing from the main menu, does it matter if I choose CTR or ODT? When would I choose one over the other?
Okay, I activated it with KMS_VL_ALL-7.2RC2. It seems as though I will have to re-activate in 180 days. All of these tools and techniques are really confusing and they seem to be changing all the time. Is there a solution (other than buying the software) that results in a safe, permanent activation?
@Bo For Office 2019 you will find a lot of usefull tools with links and how-to here KMS activation requires re-activation minimum every 180 days. Its part of the specification. Volume installation/license of Office is mandatory for KMS activation If you install retail you need to change license to volume, retail2volume will do that very easy In general, most KMS activators (recent anyway) will activate Windows/Office with correct gVLK. Problems users may experience may be result of lack of updates and/or insufficient AV exclusions. KMS_VL_ALL is up-to-date, easy to use and have top notch support There is more than one method to install Office and a lot of valuable information is found in OP A good solution is to get a VM and do test installation on. You will learn a lot. I myself find installation from image with YAOCTRI to be easy peasy, YAOCTRU is also a straight forward tool. But again, you find several tools that works flawless.
No, only after installation no such tool exist only setup.exe installer is retail, Office source itself is neutral
Thank you Is it possible to create office pro plus 2019 volune installation img by using office deployment tool or any other tool. or manual cmd script for convert after retail installation thx
created this xml to download Office proplus2019 VL with ODT <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="PerpetualVL2019"> <Product ID="ProPlus2019Volume"> <Language ID="en-us" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Lync" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneDrive" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration> it download but when run the /configure xxxxx.xxx it install to 94% then getting error 30015-11 (3221225506)
I'm not very tech minded at all but still wanted to say THANKS through 3 laptops and now 3 versions of Office Pro, everytime there has been an issue to get back up and running MDL is the place I know where to come to (I've never downloaded anything that's not linked to from here, but have heard bad things) KMSPICO served me well, and as of today I've now learned about the convertor & KMS_VL_ALL, all done painlessly - via the scripts and download links (for 2016) , on here Thanks (and apologies if I missed anyone) @abbodi1406 (for the scripts and the img download links!) , @Windows_Addict , @s1ave77 , @ratzlefatz , @Enthousiast Every patient link/readme.txt u all gave in the various threads led me to downloading the right things first time as well as then the step by step - in context: I had no idea about the different licences before today but explains why I couldn't repair my 2013, I think! Thank You ALL!!
