Eww, I still see some using MD5, when even SHA-1, is now considered a risk! Yikes!

You're welcome! I forgot to mention a very helpful post, pinned at the top of this sub-forum, by @John Sutherland: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...t-on-uefi-system-with-windows-8-8-1-10.62886/
He's helped me some four years ago when I switched to Linux and I am very grateful for that. I'm not a gamer (any more), so I've never looked back to Windows...

    Yes, that's right.
Just wanted to underline it's not Linux per se that is not running, it's a boot issue / grub issue.
The mentioned post of John is very useful. Anyway secure boot should be disabled and legacy support enabled (although there are complex ways to let run Linux with an own certificate when secure boot is enabled).

I posted that, because I found a screenshot at another forum made from a ThinkCentre M71e 3129-A4G.

It has got the legacy option.....

It's been made out of a BIOS simulator, though.
I am not sure if it matches your BIOS. As being said, it's been posted at another forum.

You're definitely missing some items in different menus. O.K. Try setting the Administrator Password and restart to BIOS again. See if any new items appear.

Chose YES, but first Set Administrator Password in Security sub-menu, restart to BIOS and look for any new items in Startup and Security sub-menus.

How would setting an admin pw give more options then you already have when you set the admin pw?

Here another crazy thing about this Lenovo PC it never shut off completely. When I select shut down windows will shut down and the monitor but the power adapter will stay running, the only way to completely shut it down I do the shutdown process and afterward, I pull the plug
