or does manual setup have to be left in for all to work?

Hi, Autounattend (from MSMG toolkit) works with manual setup removal, I am using 19045.3693. If you remove shell experience host than taskbar right click and flyouts don't work and on laptops your wifi will not connect, it gives error. you can bypass taskbar issues by installing startisback++ and setting conext menu style to classic but I am unable to find any proper solution for wifi issue. By changing registry value of ReplaceVan to 2 wifi flyout (with old windows 8 style) works but when you connect to any SSID it gives eror, you can use third party tools like homedale to connect wifi if you want.

Yes, this app has other features too but it also solves the problem of establishing wifi connection, its free and small sized, there are other freewares like netsetman which also gives you the option to enter wifi password and establish connection but they are like fully featured softwares and runs in background with service while homedale can be competely closed with no background serivce once you have entered wifi password. I only use RemovePkgsList, I haven't used DISM menu for a long time.

 

is it possible to have the image built with toolkit run a scheduled task at first login (which will call a batch script, and will delete the task so it doesn't run again).

Got it. As you said it installs correctly as Win 11 23H2 when ticking the "include updates" box, but it again, not works correctly with the msmg toolkit.

Please keep it updated also for upcoming Win 11 24H2, Win 12, whatever schmonsense of an operating system Microsucks will release ;-)

Whoever CAN donate some bucks, SHOULD donate some bucks. It's free after all and the best overall solution as far as I can see.

 

Is there any other program which does the same as msmg toolkit or ntlite, but free (or at least doesn't cost as much)?
Can't find any, but maybe haven't invested enough time looking. All other programs or tools I checked either lack features, too complex to install/handle all the various debloating-features, or are not updated.

NTLite is obviously overall better, but simply overpriced. Looks like their developers don't understand how business works and that they are sitting on a couple of millions possible customers who hate Microsucks's guts, and their bloated operating system,which additionally is filled to the brim with spying, surveillance and backdoor infested, sending telemetry all the time to companies or the likes of police, NSA/Five-Eyes.
- Not only overpriced base 40 bucks (vs. 10 bucks Win 11 OEM license), but also built as an
- subscription model, because the perpetual license only gives 1 year updates, which means
- next year with Win 11 24H2 it won't work
- and 2025 with Win 12 won't work etc. pp.
indirectly forcing paid customers to pay 20 bucks every year.

its called DISM and its build into windows so you dont really need msmg toolkit nor ntlite to remove packages from windows. Other tool i used in the past and even against windows 11 is called wimtweak.exe its just a script easy to use with it you can remove packages from installed windows or windows iso before you install windows. you can strip windows barebones with it.

and i would like to say i been playing with windows since 7 thats like years and years ago then every new version showed up Microsoft filled it with more and more crapware spyware people dont use and its more and more difficult to remove. Thing is that over the years i have learned how much work and time it takes not only to remove packages but do it in a such way so there are no dism errors no event viewer errors and no interruptions. imagine now every windows user wants their windows to look differently one wants ms store to work other doesnt one wants auto updates disabled but ms store to work thats different combination and just for this combination in windows 11 you cant disable remove waas bits dosvc wuaus usosvcs all you do is to remove usosvcs from svchost.
im telling you this so you realise how many different combinations there are.
you got a tool ntlite and msmg all automated i have used ntlite once or two decade ago most of the time msmg toolkit and really never had any issues with it. it took hell lots of work and time to make such tool.

if you think $40 for year subscription for ntlite is a lot esp if it really works I dont know, then you should download 23h2 iso and do it yourself using PS and CMD just so you realise how little $40 is.

i dont want to upgrade to 23h2 if i wanted i would just fix 22h2 with toolkit then boot and update to 23h2 then manually remove whatever got reinstalled through update.

 

yes and no re dism.
with dism,
you can only remove cirten packages these days.
since ms have merged some packages it's harder to remove individual packages.
toolkit helper removes individual packages.
exammple,
in client sku editions of windows you have packages like
Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package00~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~10.0.19041.1151
and
Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package01~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.19041.1288
and
so on.
these are merged packages.
unless there's away to decupple these back in to there individual packages,
then tools like toolkit helper are required.
note!
it matters not if install wimtweak is used, that only makes all packages visible

the merged packages started in builds 15000x builds.

before then you could remove most packages like is possible with server sku.

 

youre right about merged packages. I have tested once of twice wimtweak against 11 22h2 and as far as i remember it worked well and packages the ones i wanted got removed there was lots of packages that couldn't work what they actually were.
you still could use wimtweak plus dism and ps to clean windows manually some things like for example backup app in 23h2 are integrated and not really sure if possible to remove it, havent tried. but surely coopilot edge defender and all the junkware apps can be removed some disabled. the point is that you can do all or most without toolkit but its much more work.

 

Quick question: Does the list on "RemovePkgsList_W10_10.0.1904X.txt" on the "ToolkitHelper_Templates" folder same as the list of component removal on CMD?
