I showed all will work, when used as intended. Maybe you are not using clean sources, chopped or modified, i don't know, i can't reproduce the errors you have.
@Enthousiast I remove All Components (Apps + Windows Components + Advanced Windows Components) before or after integrate Updates..??
For v1803, remove components after the updates integration since it uses DISM to remove the components. For v1809 and 19H1 integrate updates after the component removal.
@MSMG, while my last testing with 1803 and 1809 images, I've noticed that after updates integration in 1809 (with ToolKit 9.3.1) the cleanup is taking much more time (about 1 hour) then integration in 1803 (with ToolKit 8.8). 1803 image cleanup took about 10 minutes. Why is that much difference?
ok but what's the need of boot.wim when integrating updates, i thought this only related to install.wim and i never used boot.wim with the toolkit at all,
Yes but in the ToolKit the Store and XboxApp are placed under Advanced Windows Components and this menu is not shown in the current versions since this feature is not complete yet for v1903. - Open RemovePkgsList.txt from Packs folder and add the below line for Xbox and save it ToolKitHelper_XboxApp - Now choose Remove Windows Components using Package List.
what does that means, if install.wim get updated with updates this should get you an updated installation disc this have nothing to do with boot.wim, updates are not to be integrated in boot.wim one only reason to include boot.wim using the toolkit i think is for localizing the installation media or make it multilingual i don't think there is any other benefit other than that
When you have issues with booting the installation media where it is necessary to include a fix to boot.wim, then the updates are necessary and MS has done this before too, checkout Windows 8.1 with update 1 Microsoft official ISO where the updates are integrated to boot.wim and recovery.wim. If you don't need the updated boot.wim just skip it.
Is there a list of all packages within RemovePkgsList_Template.txt that can be removed in 1903? I found some patch notes here, https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/msmg-toolkit.50572/page-526#post-1522300 But I'm not sure if the updates since then have changed things. Edit: found the answer https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/msmg-toolkit.50572/page-539#post-1523792
Hello First i want to state that i am new to toolkit, so please have understanding if i ask obvious questions Second THANK YOU MSMG for this amazing tool. I want to create w10 without all the telemetry and bloatware, apps i dont use. i have few questions about how to do it and what will happend afterwards i got my w10 iso image which is : version 10.0.17763 service pack build 379 I am using toolkit 9.3.1 I hope its all good go hopefully all will go smooth. What will happend when i will update w10 after installation of my custom w10. Will all this removed crap return ? If so is there any way to avoid or control it ? Will i be forced to do debloating process every time w10 got updated ?
When i try to remove any of Windows Components, i get this error Code: MSMG ToolKit Commandline Helper Version: 1.0.1728.0 Image Version: 10.0.17763.107 Error: Unsupported Windows OS Image Service Pack Build ToolKitHelper currently only support non-refreshed images. I use original absolutely fresh image of Windows 10 1809, what am i doing wrong?
You need build 17763.1, not .379 (this is refreshed image, which is not supported by ToolKit, you can use it, but most probably you will get some errors). My advice, try to use version 9.2 of the ToolKit if you have any problems with 9.3.1. Removed crap will return when you update to next major Win 10 version, for example 1803 to 1809 or 1809 to 1903. Standard cumulative updates will not bring the bloatware back.
