I know there are ppl out there like myself that have the knowledge to do it....that isn't the point. Putting it out publicly was not correct. Most have no idea what you are talking about anyways. lol That method has been changed so that password you got is no good now. lol Plus you will find it out right difficult to extract on the desktop now.
I am installing win 8.1 update 3 now in VMware with new method so hopefully that wont happen. Its checking internet connection now and I have had no popus for 7za.exe. Now its checking for updates...still no popup with new version I haven't released yet.
Protect all you like, I'm confident in both my skills and your work. Yes I'm complimenting you. We can either fuss and fight or just move on. Ever consider going open source? Who could deny credit? An entire forum thread dedicated, why bother packing it? *Edit* The reason I'd consider making it open is so that people who are already preinstalled can just apply the OEM themes. I've got a system build I've been running for quite some time, and it'd be difficult to reinstall. So I wanted to extract the ASUS theme to apply it myself, without reinstalling. That is all.
Have you read back a few pages? I said exactly why I am hiding it and for good reason, not from ppl like you but legal reasons...I know if it isn't your butt on the line you don't care but that is a bad attitude to have. I am not mad...maybe disappointed you didn't pm me about it if nothing else but I am not mad and yes, I will move on. Testing of win8.1, win7 and vista has all installed correctly with no popups about 7za.exe extracting the contents. I would like to send you this to test privately if you don't mind svenby?
Legal reasons? Ah, that never crossed my mind. I do care actually, it just never crossed my mind. Perhaps you could put it in a big banner on the first post: "Checked by Admins, trusted, but 'protected for legal reasons'." or something. I missed it. Respect.
Got the project down to 14% False Positives from the old 18% False Positives so that is better. I will go ahead and upload the new project...I have win10 to still test but all others installed perfectly in modded VMware bios. Stay tuned...
I apologize if I have missed something not mean it to sound like I have attitude problems. It is difficult to explain with the help of goggle translate easily to be the wrong word I Uses. I will pull myself together and read the thread carefully.
I know google isn't good at translating...we will get through it. I am uploading the new project now...I will go ahead and post the query tool since it is done now. VMware is always different from real machines because bios is limited in VMware (this is why we some times have conflicts, but without ppl sharing the Results.txt file there isn't much I can do. lol ).
By the way svenby, I have been testing the extraction on my real HP lappy and I have not seen any popup so far and I am running win8.1. I added the highest level of permissions to the extraction process so maybe that took care of the popup. Test the upcoming new project and get back with me, I am curious. lol First post updated with info and new links to the new version. Change log: Spoiler Change log 01-28-2015: -Oobe is a little smaller. -Added mce logo to Surface OEM images, thanks Baltagy. -Added new method of protection to replace the old outdated one. -Added VOID5=O.E.M to query tool and project in order to make scripts run a little faster. -Added option of removing the OEM'S.7z in order to just apply activation and no branding (windows default will be applied if it is removed). -No popup about 7za.exe permissions (Tested vista, win7, win8, win8.1 and will test in win10 later in VMware). -Other minor improvements.
Thank you I have tested it now on my HP ENVY 15 with Windows 8.1 x64 core. Everything works perfectly. None of difficulty, I want to thank once again for a super job you do here.
Ok then, I'm off to go have a beer and relax. Have a good day everyone. And lets not forget to thank google translate. lol
