on a posready 7 machine with IE8 why the pack does not replace it with IE11? also it does not install the KB3125574-v4 and kb4534310 (it makes a loop)
for someone who never used this, does this installer check and removes older versions of updates, removes possibly telemetry installed kb's, cleans sxs folder ?
No, afaik it doesn't remove older updates, always best to start with a clean image. It uses a cmd to apply the telemetry fixes like @abbodi1406 his script does. Afaik, cleaning up the sxs folder is not possible under 7, there were some projects in the past, one of them called, rebase.
I used rebase a while ago and it seemed to work fine. Dism++ can reduce winsxs. It can't be used when there are pending updates.
After updating my windows 7 ultimate with the latest simplix pack, on the desktop screen at bottom right corner I am getting "test mode windows 7 build 7601" watermark Can anybody provide its solution plz
hello, i have a question which after some digging i havent found a clear answer for. does this pack include the updates included in the monthly security only updates that Microsoft started to push in 2016, or does this pack only include standalone updates offered through the windows update program? my understanding is that a lot of updates since 2016 that are included in the monthly security only patch updates arent actually offered through windows update as standalone patches. so with this pack, im wondering if i still need to install the security only monthlies? im thankful for anyone who can give me insight on this edit: ty for the update, enthousiast
@John Derp The pack used to exclude them but now it does include them, but it uses a script to block telemetry (which is not the same as on 8/10, it's mostly technical). The usage of the updatepacks is to use them monthly to update windows. Personally i don't care about telemetry and only use the updatepacks for conveniently offline update windows images.
