Can we stop the infection drama? There is no infection, if an AV is triggered it will be a false positive or so, nothing is infected.
I mentioned this false positive back in July. I now disable Avast a/v when I install the Simplix pack to avoid the annoyance. I submitted it to Avast when it first happened but they have not fixed it. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...win7-distribution.45005/page-232#post-1798311
Apologies for the thread drift. I am unable to start a new thread to ask a question. I have just downloaded the UpdatePack7R2.exe to do a live update on my W7 pro 64-bit desktops. It is taking about half an hour to install. Is this normal? I was under the impression that this tool would simply scan my PC and install the most recent missing updates. It seems a long time to do this simple procedure. Both of the machines have been performing very well and quick to do most tasks.
Many thanks. They have been performing flawlessly for so long I take W7 for granted. I just don't remember it taking this long before. All good then.
If the antivirus app is still running and hasn't been disabled, do so. That may speed things up a bit.

Hello! I did a fresh install of Seven enterprise today. Everything went fine except a tiny thing. After simpix pack finished I noticed that kb5016892 wasn't installed. So I installed it manually (from .msu) together with bypassesu and wu esu patch. Then I got offered again the February SMQR together with a .net 3.5.1 update from 2022-12 (kb5021091) although I have verified that the 2024-01 .net 3.5.1 update is installed, so I assume that this is just a metadata thing. The other interesting thing is that while I got the usual old updates (the ones from the 2022-09 mess) at first, they disappeared after I run again simplix pack to install the 2024-02 SMQR. Any idea why ESU Licencing package (kb5016892) wasn't installed by the pack? Thank you!
xrononautis: I didn't have the KB5016892 July 2022 ESU LPP update either. I may be wrong, but I believe Simplix UpdatePack7R2 uses the KB4575903 July 2020 ESU LPP update. Note: I guess I was wrong because I didn't see that update in your log list.
Which WU ESU Patcher you used? Embedded 7 category only require KB4575903 (installed by the Pack) Server 2008 R2 category need KB5016892
