I think you need 8.1 media. 8.0 is a different branch.

On win8.0 I would start with:
ndp3.5 (there is a nice addon from abbodi)
    ndp4.6.2-kb3151800
kb3013767 2014-12 Update Rollup (fixes the windows update)
kb5027575 2023-06 Servicing stack (latest for windows embedded, probably you can directly install the latest for WS2012)
maybe kb5017221 ESU Licensing Preparation Package for WS2012

After that pick and choose from what windows update will list + latest cumulative updates from WS2012

Depends on your definition of "possible to use". If you need new software, just ask all the software developers out there if they will keep supporting 8.1 during your desired time period. If not, just ask some tinkerer if they can make some sort of patch for the software in question to keep working. :)

Hello, how to make updated media for Windows 8 (not 8.1) with latest available updates? I have W7 and 8.1 updated till 2023.01 and work great. What was the official end of support for 8.0?

I think I suspect how I get the latest driver for my video card and as it's for 2012 r2 in 8.1 it installs it but it shouldn't "activate" x.v.color correctly on the TV which is why the colors are bad, sometime I'll test it with the latest driver released for the 8.1 to see if it resolves

Question, what updates are necessary to upgrade a Windows 8.1 RTM ISO to Update 3?

I want to update a Windows 8.1 RTM ISO to Update 3 in almost the same way as the official Windows 8.1 ISO, applying the Base Reset, but I need the necessary updates.

What I am looking for is to first update the Windows 8.1 RTM ISO to its original version (in this case the Windows 8.1 ISO with Update 3) and then apply Reset Base, and then I will apply the most recent updates.

You mean 2012 R2? By script you mean something like the Bypass for Windows 7 ?
If that's the case you can find it HERE
