That doesn't work for me. I already have the windows update service disabled when I start the program, then when it asks if I want to start the service I say yes. Then the program opens with "disabled" already selected, and selecting something else and then trying disabled again doesn't work. The program works, it does windows updates letting me select what I want, but I can't get it to stop the windows update service when I'm done. I could make a script that does it automatically after running the program if needed - like the one in my signature, but I'll give it time and let the program mature. I'm still using the windows update show-hide tool at the moment with the windows update full control script.
Can somebody call the dev who made this tool and ask him if possile to post all related informations about this tool in english? Or make an website for it? Or create an topic on MDL (in english)?
Is there a change log? Found it! History of changes 03/10/2015 - Added Offline mode - Added to configure Automatic Updates. You do not necessarily climb in Group Policy to disable the auto-update - Added the option to choose which service to use to search for updates - Added the possibility of a simple translation into other languages through the .ini file - Added display extended information about drivers - Fixed Update Support URL - Fixed a bug with the hidden updates. It appears only ru_wumt_x64 - Other improvements in the code
This tool maybe better than Windows Update. It found 2 updates that Microsoft never told me about. One was for an SBus Driver and the other was Silver Light.
I'm going to incorporate the minitool instead of the show hide update tool in my windows update control script soon for the reason you mentioned. It found lots of motherboard chipset drivers for my laptop yesterday which was previously using generic drivers, so things are coming along nicely here driver-wise.
You should check, because it was probably just a newer chipset INF's. I was offered the same but it's not the newest, and it also say's I have all these updates installed for Japanese language's, LMAO.
