I don't know if this is appropriate or not, but I have been installing each months updates following the information here. Today, Apple tried to update my iTunes program on my Windows 7 and the install could not complete, I have tracked it down to this message:: "windows installer service cannot be accessed" and the MSIExec cannot be started. I am worried that perhaps this has been caused by one/any of the Windows updates I've done for the last few months. Any help or direction is appreciated.
Wow, that did it. Now the Installer starts (using Services). So, explain to me please why did this happen. And will I have to do this each month so I can install new programs?? THANKS
It's a known side effect of the ESU .net bypass, best to install it only when dotnetcu's are available or use the manual installer to install the dotnet updates.
THANK YOU, I was going crazy there for a while trying to figure out why this happened. So, please tell me what you mean by the manual installer vs the ESU .net bypass.
Thank you for your reply, but I'm not quite sure how to interpret it. The first part is clear, but "...i did and all still worked", sort of sounds to me like you were expecting something to get broken, but it didn't. What did you think would happen when you installed it? And if "all still worked", is there any reason it shouldn't be installed? Anyway, again, thank you for your time - and for all the great effort the others and you have put into the bypass.

I need some help/advice: I had been using KB4528069-Lite with no issues until July's Security Only Quality Update (KB4565539) which I now cannot install. I downloaded BypassESU-v7-AIO and I have all prerequisites including this month's servicing stack update (KB4565354), the only thing I don't have is "KB4538483: ESU Licensing Preparation Package" as I don't require WU updates. However when running LiveOS-Setup.cmd I'm only offered option 3 (Install WU ESU Patcher) and option 7 (Install .NET 4 ESU Bypass), I don't get option 1 (Full Installation) or option 2 (Install ESU Suppressor), option 2 is what I want for manual security only updates - is it supposed to show when I have Lite installed? How do I proceed from here? We're about to receive the August patches so I'd be very grateful for some advice on resolving it. Thank you
You only get the options offered which you don't have previously installed, so you should be good to go. I can do a test from Lite to v7 if needed.
Thanks, I thought so too. In that case I don't know what the issue is, I've follow the same process each month from February with no change whatsoever and this is the first month that has failed. I do a manual installation of the msu files each month with the new servicing stack first and then the monthly security only update. As usual this month I first did: - The July servicing stack successfully (KB4565354) - Then attempted July's security only update (KB4565539) which simply will not install. It goes through the process and then gives the message "Some updates were not installed". When checking windows update from the control panel it shows the "Failed" status and has an error code of "8023200D". I've researched with that error code but didn't find anything to resolve the problem.
Thanks for the suggestion, I installed KB4528069 by placing the msu next to the files, however I'm still getting the same error with the July security only update (KB4565539)
