Disappointed that this feature essentially requires VBS, which degrades performance somewhat. Was able to install it, the Amazon Store is not enabled in my country, so even if the OS is all US/English regional settings, it blocks access from IP. Not gonna bother with VPN just for this. Had to enable Virtual Machine Platform from Features. Disabling it now and uninstalling WSA, interesting feature, but not worth it in its current form at least not for me.
U don't need to use a VPN for the amazon US store. u just need US amazon account. Also, u don't need even an amazon account to sideload apps. The only downside is take around 2GB ram
I can get the WSA settings window open but when clicking on "manage developer settings" under "Developer mode" the "Starting Windows Subsystem For Android" will appear for a few seconds and crash. @ richwood I had that problem also. So I refreshed the IP Address until it showed up, then WSA didn't crash anymore.
Hmm, I wonder why Microsoft does not offer WSA with root from the factory, considering they want developers to build apps for this as well. Although, there have been modifications already on GitHub which allow a user to obtain root.
After run WSA when click on Manage Developer settings open a new windows but after few seconds close it How can solve it? I test on new windows 11 and any version of WSA Image:ibb.co/THykDkK
which GPU do you have? I had the same error but when I changed the graphics to Intel the problem was fixed. I think this problem occurs due to a current incompatible GPU.
How can i access the Android Filesystem from Windows (like Windows Explorer). WSL gives the ability but Android Subsystem not yet as i can see. I know there is a way by installing SMB-Server-App, but i want a "built-in" way.
