Hi I tried but I could not find the bios in question, I would of course with the slick 2.1.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Motherboard Manufacturer and Model :compaq presario cq60-210el (processor: Intel)
    -Bios Revision :f.32
    -Bios Type :insyde h20
    -Bios SLIC :2.0

Windows Vista Home Basic was installed on this notebook and I later formatted the notebook and installed Windows 7 Ultimate.

SLIC with Windows 7 looks like this:

    SLIC_Win7.JPG

later I used the "HP DMI SLP v.1.1D" tool to try to enable slic for Windows 7 but without success.

In dos mode I typed "NbDmiFit.bat" and this is the information

In practice with Windows Vista these were the values:
    OS SKU: 1
    Win7 Configuration: 0

Then once I installed Windows 7 I changed the values like this:
    OS SKU: 2
    Win7 Configuration: 4

    see screen:

    2.jpg
    3.jpg
    4.jpg
    5.jpg
even if I saved the changes the slic always remains 2.0

If the serial PCID can be useful, this is:

    7.jpg

How can I solve the problem? thank you

Hello, I don't know if it has been requested before but I need your help.

I have a HP Pavilion DV6 3046sa with Insyde Bios version F.29 (latest official version available from HP support webpage).

I wanted to upgrade my WiFi card and found out that is not supported by the laptop (as I understand due to 'whitelist' that HP uses).
the other problem I have is that I got rid of Windows from my laptop as I started using Linux (Solus OS 4.1 to exact) but I don't know how to find out all the details you need to be given in order to try and help.

Ideally I would like to remove the bios whitelist for WiFi card and maybe to select only one of the graphic cards to work all times (there is Radeon HD 4250 & 5470).

If somebody can help that will be great, as the laptop (although quite old) with Linux has still a lot to give (as I don't play games anyway) and I would like to take advantage from a higher WiFi connection.

    thanks in advance
