some bios have nocompress module already present. The oem7 mod must be used at this instance. I think these will become more common in the future..why? Could offon7544 elucidate his method. I have done a few, but they tend to be hit and miss for me. The .bmp tend to show a little screwy sometimes also..

Hi, I used the award bios flasher. Extracted iso, flashed the bin, replaced the bin in image with magic iso. Tried to flash the bios, but it says: FLASH TYPE - SST 49LF040B LPC /3.3V The file size does not match. The bios is for xfx 650i ultra version P05. Is there a solution? Thanx
This doesn't look like a good warning: "16-bit/32-bit PCI Routing table Mismatch! This Module Might Not Be Usable!" I'm not an expert at Phoenix BIOS, but I wouldn't trust Phoenix BIOS Editor to not screw it up. I wouldn't mod it in this case and just use a boot loader. But to answer your other questions... Yep, the -X means it will be added uncompressed. The below is just for informational purposes. Code: RSDT 52 signature "RSDT" 53 44 54 00 length 00 00 00 01 revision 00 checksum 50 oem id 54 4C 54 44 20 20 oem table id 20 52 53 44 54 20 20 00 OEM revision 00 00 00 20 creator id 4C 54 50 00 creator revision 00 00 00 Oem id: "PTLTD " would change to: "DELL " Oem table id: " RSDT " would change to: "M07 "+00 XSDT 58 signature "XSDT" 53 44 54 00 length 00 00 00 01 revision 00 checksum 50 oem id 54 4C 54 44 20 09 oem table id 20 58 53 44 54 20 20 00 oem revision 00 00 00 20 creator id 4C 54 50 00 creator revision 00 00 00 Oem id: "PTLTD " would change to: "DELL " Oem table id: 09+" XSDT " would change to: "M07 "+00
tqhoang Yes, zort is right. Additional info: Your f.bat contains BBL command. Update to the original bios before. When flashing the mod REMOVE IT. You don't need to update the bootblock flashing a SLIC mod. The bootblock contains important code needed in case of recovery. phlash16 hdamb203.rom /mode=3 /c /bbl Remove /bbl About the table mismatch error: I had it before, the mod worked anyway. BUT: Phoenix bios editor has sometimes problems to decompress the modules completely. This issue caused some bricked boards before! So you want Dell SLP1.0 additionally. Dell is difficult. To check I need a dump. Please install Hwdirect (at 64 bit press f8 and disable driver signing enforcement before). Goto memory dump enter physical address: F0000, size FFFF. Press dump. Right click into window, select all, right click again and select copy. Paste it into, lets say notepad, save and upload it please. I'll see if I'm able to make a mod without PBE........
Zort - Thanks for the info. Yen - No need to do an SLP 1.0 mod. That was more for educational purposes. In reality, I'm only interested in Vista SLP 2.0 mod. But here's the URL for the memory dump you requested anyway. <Link removed> FWIW, here's my first attempt using PBE after double-checking the MD5 checksum's of the files in "TEMP" a few times to see if PBE was consistently extracting the HDAMB 2.03 BIOS. Here's the URL for my first test (test1) BIOS mod. Before I flash it, is there any way of examining my modded BIOS to see if PBE screwed something up? <Link removed>
nF4 SLI-DR OK, Just got myself onto the forums and i'm very interested in getting somewhere near the end of my anti-Vista campaign, XP is getting closer to the end of it's life support so i've got to look into a suitable replacement and on OS to recommend to clients. I don't feel it necessary to waste anybody's time so i'm going to get to the point. I've Read Up on this bios modification and emulation concepts, yet i am still a little fuzzy on the procedure. Basically Here is my system Setup that i would like to use to give this a shot Motherboard: DFI LanParty nF4 SLI-DR (nForce 4 SLI CK804, SiI 3114r5) CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4800+ @ 2.40GHz Stock The first question i've got that seems to have me up against a wall, is with everest and Sandra XII. The Bios info i'm getting is confusing me a little. I have read that Phoenix and Award are now the same company (wikipedia i believe). I just seem to get info saying award as well as Phoenix. Maybe i'm totally looking in the wrong spot, but if someone could provide a little clarification it would be awesome. Sorry Guys, I think i just realized what i was looking for "Bios Type = Award" "Award BIOS Type = Phoenix - Award WorkstationBios v6.00PG" Still a little new to everest, always been a sisoft boy.
I successfully modded the BIOS with SLIC using the Award BIOS Method #1. Now I want to mod the same BIOS with SLP 1.0 to activate XP Professional 32bit and x64. Is there any tutorial for this? Motherboard : Asus M2N-E Thank you very much for this nice tutorial.
