I guess SLIC21 folder will contain W7 and WS 2008 R2 activating SLICs with new marker version OA2.1 :D

So Windows 7 doesn't use any OEM certificate at all to activate?

if it says success it makes no difference, they're just different methods to achieve the same result, one may work on one board but not another, with yours it obviously works with both so just take your pick, the end result will be the same.

    Thanks

Used version SLICTOOLS v 1.2 on my ASUS M3N78-VM, Bios 13.01, and worked perfectly.

Going to sell my Vista Ultimate licence on e-bay while I still can.;)

    Many thanks :):):)

no it crippled, ive tried the ctrl-home an floppy trick (AMIBOOT.ROM.), but floppy don't light up either, the cd drives spin so i made a cd with (AMIBOOT.ROM.) on it but no go either, i may be able to hot flash, using another machine i got, but im not keen on that method
anyway i got anothe motherboard to replace it with anyway, so nothing lost

i should of used an ami flash tool instaead of the asrock flash tool, to keep the bootblock, but its the first time ive used the asrock tool

It would not have flashed with AMI tool, most likely. ASrock are a bugger to mod and flash properly. They do not recover well, if at all. No recovery option on most of these bios. If you have a better make board, the bios modding may go better. Core 7 is funky anyway, add ASrock to the equation...bad juju..IMHO:D

Just out of curiosity..How well do you think that board would have run vista anyhow?? Just curious..

ive been running vista on it, it runns amazingly well

asrock k7tv4a pro via kt400 chipstet
    AMD3000+
    Radeon9800 128mb pro
    2 gig ram (kingston)
    sata drive

it was really a nice all round machine

but ive got a ECS KT600-A to put in instead
via kt600,and the asrock was a via kt400 so the ECS will be a little bit better i hope

also somwhere knocking around ive got a spare bios chip i proggrammed where i used to work, so as soon as i find it it should be up and runing again, it just finding the little bugger, i cant remember where it gone, ill come across it soon,
