I have the Asus P8P67 Pro and I tried the following (BIOS 1003, Manufacturer set to Asus, and updated with the EZ Flash tool in BIOS): Used 1.71 to mod: SSV2 - refused to flash; dynamic - refused to flash; Module - flashed but no SLIC found Was not able to download 1.72 Used 1.73b4: SSV2 - flashed and bricked the board After bricking the board; even Asus' heavily advertised CrashFree3 doesn't help as board doesn't seem to recognize the CPU. I RMA'ed the board and waiting for the replacement at the moment, but has anyone had any luck with this board and BOIS? I don't want to brick the new board as it's costing me $12 to ship back each time.
I still can't figure out why some brick and some don't. Everyone seems to be using BUPDATER 1.22 As far as the memory timings - this could easily be an ASUS BIOS issue..... The only other thought that comes to mind is if some modules are position dependant..... i will see if i can genereate a test bios that doesn't subtly shift modules. Phrunt - grateful if you could test any dynamic mods and if able, comment on the memory settings and whether the BIOS settings suggested earlier make any difference. Thanks Andy
Guys, I have no control over the server. I can't log on to it either. I am sure it is being looked at. We have a great team. Andy
The mods server is down. The team works hard on it. Anyway I don't have a time / date when it will be on again.
Why you guys only flash with BUpdater. Have you tried EZ-Flash from within the UEFI? Does a correct flashing process depend on whether you use BUpdater or EZ Flash?
intxeon i try it and brick with SSV2 and 1.72 Now i call to shop they say that they will give me new MB
I've got news about the mods server. It will take a longer time to set it up again. Andy, I suggest to upload your updated tools to a mirror and update the links at your first posts until the server is back again. Thanks.
It seems at this stage Dynamic is the best mod method to use for p8p boards, so if you're going to mod the Deluxe or the Standard I'm pretty sure you'll be fine using a Dynamic mod. Regarding the use of Bupdater, with previous mainboards and early mods if you didn't use afudos to flash the board and tried to use the ASUS ezupdate from within the bios the board flashed but the mod didn't work, so I guess we just prefer using the proper tool just in case.
