Has anyone had any luck resolving the update check delay the fix adds? Normally take about 2-5min for my "check to updates" to come back saying no updates are available, after installing the ESU bypass it takes between 1-3hrs for "checking for updates" to eventually say "no updates available". After running the uninstall the delay is back to normal. I mean, I guess it normally happens behind the scenes so in the grand scheme not a huge deal but makes me curious if the ESU updates will actually come through or not once support ends.
Oh okay, my mistake for missing these posts in the thread. I will uninstall it and await v4 to fix this issue
First time poster, a few questions... (w7 Professional install) 1 - Where can we donate to devs? This is awesome work and deserves to be rewarded 2 - I downloaded the ESUBypass tool from the first post, installed it, and successfully installed KB4528069. So if my understanding is correct, I have now validated that I can manually install updates after EOL. Windows Update will NOT see these updates automatically, I will need to manually download them, re-run ESUBypass, install the downloaded patch, and then uninstall ESUbypass. I will need to do this for every security update. Is this correct? 3 - There is a new method being developed that WILL work automatically with Windows Update, but that is not ready yet. Is all that correct?
2- Yes, with the current Bypass the upcoming improved Bypass will evade the slow performance of TrustedInstaller.exe
Although I have the original bypass tool for this moment, I will definitely use that one whenever it's available. Would save me (and others) a lot of time installing and uninstalling it every time and see that certain process get bogged down. Keep us noted about it, thanks Also, for the above commands abbodi provided regarding the EOSNotify disabling, all of that can be made into a batch file to make things quicker (but remember to run it as Administrator as you do when you open Command Prompt).
I am trying to install BypassESU but when I run the installer I get an error message in the command prompt saying the script requires administrator privileges, and I can't proceed past this point. I do have administrator rights; mine is the only account on the computer. What am I doing wrong?
May be it seems simple but right click on script and there click on run as administrator. As simple as that.
Thank you. I don't have this option. When I right-click on the installer file I get Open, Cut, Copy, Delete, and Properties options in the menu.
Okay May be I got your problem. You must be running it directly from zip file. First extract all files from zip into one folder, then try to right click and run as administrator.
